Sport Healthy Snack Advice?

Sport Fitness
I have a problem. I like to watch movies and sporting events and stuff like that. But I find when a big game is on like the World series i'll use it as an excuse to eat something unhealthy.

I need advice on what good snacks I can eat while watching TV that won't badly effect my diet and weight loss goals. I love popcorn. Is light butter microwave popcorn healthy with some diet soda. What other good snacks and food can I munch on during games? Fat free hebrew national hot dogs with wheat bread perhaps? Is it bad to eat 1 85 percent lean burger on a wheat roll with reduced fat cheddar cheese and ketchup and mustard?

Thanks for the advice.

Hi! Tell us more first - what are your actual goals, what are your stats (weight, body fat%, etc.). What's your diet like already right now.

You need to please be a lot more specific. If you are looking to train for competition, then you will surely need to be very careful with what you eat. Overall, I would still to snacking on some protein snack; perhaps cook up some yummy chicken in your favorite seasoning and bite on that? Or Try snacking on your fav veggies (without dip if possible). Soybeans maybe? But well, I'm personally a health nuts sooo I go all out.

Tuna, string cheese, beef jerky, nuts (in moderation unless you're doing a low-carb diet), cottage cheese mixed with choco whey and a pkt of splenda (this takes some time to stir as well).

For drinking, water (w/ lemon and splenda) or crystal light.

I say yes. You have the white processed flour, the HFCS of the ketchup and probably the mustard as well and all the fat of that burger.

I say occasional snacks like bugers and stuff are fine, just as long as you keep it in moderation. As for day to day snacking, you can't go wrong with some of the stuff Cynic listed.

I find that whipping up a sandwich with whatever meat is in the fridge on some multigrained bread hits the spot best.

agreed, a sandwich should fill you up and stem the tide of your hunger to avoid snacking. Beef jerky is an excellent protein rich snack for watching movies. I also like to mix up some low fat natural yoghurt with vanilla or banana flavoured whey powder (again, takes a while to mix well) and then I throw in some sultanas or something.

Raw almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans, etc.
Yogurt
String cheese
Beef Jerky
Cottage cheese with natural peanut butter

Anything that you can fit into your totals :)

String cheese like this?:

I always thought these would be bad to snack on?? I'm probably wrong though. I also thought they were full of preservatives and were "fake" cheese until i looked at the website, aparently no preservatives or anything added lol.
