Sport healthy low fat/carb snacks?

Sport Fitness
what foods can i eat, like a snack during the day - i have a time period from like 9am to 1pm which is just all school no breaks, like 5-10mins inbetween... and i need something healthy that'll help me lower my body fat percentage. i used to eat a bag of peanuts throughout the day and then whatever my parents would give me for dinner... but seeing as nuts are more than 1/2 fat (though its good fat) it didn't help me lose weight, so i tried not eating at all til i got home today - problem with that was i got REAL hungry and my body started to ache, so when i got home i just ate a ton of junk food cause it was really tough to hold back... and thats REALLY bad. so i need something thats healthy, and low in fat and carbs, any ideas?

Listen,

fat doesn't make you fat...extra calories make you fat.
furthermore, not eating enough fat when trying to shed bodyfat or gain lean muscle mass, will stunt your progress.

to add to the problem, most 'low fat' prepackaged foods are 'high carb'..specifically full of high fructose corn syrup.

you would in fact be better off with an ounce of lightly salted nuts, like almonds (peanuts are 'ok...almonds, walnuts...are 'better' in their fat profile), and if possible a protein shake, or beef jerky.

I say, when you're in high school, just train and try to eat right, and mostly focus on your studies. Being a muscle head won't help much if you're un-learned.

well, i didnt mean no fat. i meant less fat. see, im on a phase diet type thing where i eat probably 75% or so worth of protein for two days, and then 25% protein for the third day. its easier to balance that 75% if my snack wasnt 2/3 fat content lol... it seems to have worked over the summer, but now i get these eating urges after school so i need a snack during the day. i do eat beef jerky, but the thing is im trying to pay for college (NOT highschool lol) and my car as well, and for $5 a bag for beef jerky just isn't in the budget, considering the cheapest place i can get it is 10 miles away and my schedule is tight as it is... and i cant bring a protein shake with me... maybe ill look for a funnel and just pour the protein shake into a water bottle or something. also, note the title "low fat/carb" im not gonna go out and buy a ton of snacks that say low or no fat without looking at the health info on the side...

i eat healthy, its just i prefer not to eat anything but protein for the first half of the day since carbs cause the storage of fat... this way i burn fat from the time i fall asleep until, well, practically dinner.

eat some fruits and veggies.

celery sticks/carrots /w peanut butter is good.

any kind of fruit is good.

peanut butter sandwich is tasty too (notice no jelly).

yogurt.

And to save money , buy in bulks.

I also find trail mix to be quit good and tasty.

What kind of diet is it anyway? Doesn't seem very balanced to me. What is a benefit of eating 75% of protein in your diet? You should consume between 1.5-1.75g of protein per pound of body mass, maybe go up to 2g if you insist but not more. Even low carb diets are higher in fat (as a percentage of daily calories) than protein.

Anyway, if you're eating any carbs during the day they should be best consumed during the first half of the day as this is when you're body is least likely to store them as fat. Also some oat porridge with your breakfast will keep help keep you full for longer.

I think you really need to take a good look at your diet and come up with a nutritionally balanced plan to support your goals. I'd read nutritional stickies on this forum for more info.

Pretzels work fairly well. They're usually high in sodium, but they tend to fill you up pretty fast.
