Hey, everyone. I'm sorry if this comes across as spam, but it's a legitimate effort. Message me and I'll confirm if you'd like. I'm a college student from a low-income single mom household, and while I can exercise without money, eating as healthy as I would like to is a different story. The healthiest foods are usually the most expensive in today's America. Any money chipped in would be used to buy healthy foods and help me on my journey to lose weight and become healthier. Thank you so much in advance!

Have you tried getting a job? Just a theory... I'm a low income college student too and that's what I did to afford healthier food instead of asking people for free money.

Yep, I have one, thank you for your extremely helpful reply!

Better budgeting then. It's about priorities. If you want to eat right, you have to make other sacrifices. Eating vegetables when they are in season will drop the cost in half. You can easily eat healthy if you budget properly and are aware of what and when to buy.

I come from a near-poverty-level family. Any extra money I make is going into an account to repay my college loans so I don't end up on the streets when I graduate. And I do buy frozen veggies, etc., but that's about all I can afford. Thanks.

apparently you aren't familiar with college loans. the interest rates are so low that you want to hold that loan as long as possible. Money that would go to paying any extra off the loan is better invested in your health or even putting in actual investments.

A lot of healthy foods like lentils and eggs (tons of protein) for example are also dirt cheap. Like others have said, you just have to be wise about your choices.

Hey,

I know how hard it can be to shop for healthy food when you visit a grocery store. There are so many items there that you don’t know which ones to pick and which ones to leave behind. Not to worry though, I am here to help you!

Okay, you are planning to go to the grocery store so the first thing you need to do is make a list of things you will be buying.

Here they are:

- Grains, Legumes and Starches – High Fiber Cereals, Oats, Sweet Potatoes, Brown Rice or Basmati Rice

- Meat/Protein Items – Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, Wild Salmon, Flank/Sirloin or Lean Beef

- Vegetables/Fruits – 3 to 4 In-season Fruits, 5 In-season Vegetables that must include one Leafy Green, Tomatoes, Onions, Cucumber and Onions

- Oils/Condiments – Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Vinegar/Apple-cider Vinegar, Mustard, Low Sodium Soy Salt, Ketchup

- Dairy – Nonfat Milk, Regular Yogurt, Eggs, Cottage Cheese

- Seasonings – Black Pepper, Lemons, Peppermint, Coriander, Ginger, Garlic, Sea Salt, Kosher Salt

Make sure these items are on your grocery list whenever you go shopping!

Till next time, take care, stay healthy and safe!

Cereal food is good for health and also low calories in it. you can easy to cook it in less time and also best for lose weight

If you don't give much time to healthy eating you can add glass of fruit juices to maintain good health as having them in your regular diet will make your target of healthy living easy. You may also add vegetable juices.

Agree with you about a saving role of fruit/vegs juices. But always keep in mind that when you juice you remove the fibre ;)
