Sport Healthy diet

Assuming you get in enough protein a day, what is a good all around healthy diet split?

Should you get more fats in than carbs, or more carbs than fat? Which would be optimal...(We are also assuming healthy fats and carbs)

How should the split look? 30/40/30 Fat/carbs/protein?

Actually there is no optimal cookie cutter diet.Diets are as individual as we are, what works for me might not work for you.I am 6'4" and 255 lbs.and if I gave you my diet I am sure it would cause issues.I eat less than 20g's of carbs a day with the exception of weekends and if you are lets say a marathon runner ...well you see my point. If you want a good jumping off point post a bit of background info and stats I am sure somebody can help.

Here is portion of the link I am about to post to gather interest in the article, by Lyle McDonald (yes its applicable to the topic):

A Quote from Lyle McDonald:

"This study basically backs up what I’ve been saying for years:

A single fast food meal, within the context of a calorie controlled diet, is not death on a plate. It won’t destroy your diet and it won’t make you immediately turn into a big fat pile of blubber. And, frankly, this can be predicted on basic physiology (in terms of nutrient digestion) alone. It’s just nice to see it verified in a controlled setting."

Here is the rest of the article--fits your thread topic to a degree:

Best wishes,
