health issue

This is the second time now in a little more than two months that i feel im on my death bed. I workout occasionaly but for the most part run alot. I was planning on running the NYC marathon but dont know if I will be ok missing training. 2 months ago i went extra hard at the gym but thought i recovered pretty well and was well nourished but about 3 or 4 days later was terribly ill. i was tested for strept throat becasue my glands and my throat were swollen and my tonsils covered in **** but nothing i couldnt move any muscle in my body. not one bit, it hurt to move on the couch. i was consistenly tired and litteraly felt like i was dying after a blood test for mono came back negative i had to give blood again for various stds and so forth becasue my white blood cell count in my liver was ridic high. abouta week later i was better and the doctor called and said i had an infected liver. it didnt make sense at all the syptoms with what happened. As of now i went for a 16 mile run on friday and sunday night i got a fever. once again my tonsils are swollen and my fever unaffected by tylenol advil etc whatever it doesnt work. it went away for 2 days and just came back tonight so i will be going to the doctor tomm but was just curious if any1 could help me out with reasons or anything so mayb i can get to the bottom of this with the doc cas i feel hes not as educated being a peditrician dealing with a 20yr old. if it helps get to the bottom of it any1 i do smoke pot. ya i know its not good esp for the cardio but doesnt seem to affect me while running or so what. any help is appreciated. i cannot keep putting my body through the training if this is whats going to happen

maybe you have tonsilitis and they need to be removed. go to an ear, nose, and throat specialist to make sure.

It sure seems like when you exert yourself it causes you to have a reaction. I agree with Lillian, get checked out with an ENT and if they don't find a cause, find a GP who is willing to work with you to find out what is causing it.

It's obviously not the workout itself, but that seems to trigger it.

Hope yo find something out soon. Let us know....

Yup, I figured that out about myself the hard way :( It took forever before I went to a Dr about it. I even argued w/ my doctor after he researched my symptoms & told me what he thought my problem was. After sending me to a specialist to confirm his dx, which he did, & I did research of my own, I quit arguing.
