Have discovered that my private health fund will refund part of my programme costs with my packagebonus that we accrue each year. I spoke to them on the phone the other day and as long as you have an official receipt with the programme details and the amount paid as well as your details they will pay you a refund, in my case 2/3 approx.
Thought this may be of use to somebody else on Cohen's. I'm off on Monday to claim the bonus. Might put it aside for a new wardrobe :D

I am on a MBF Private Hospital and Extras package and I could get back $100!

Not as good as 2/3 but better than nothing!

I agree Herm. Anything is better than nothing, we were lucky we haven't claimed anything for a few years so it works nicely in my favour.:D

If you don't mind me asking Lonniecee...which private health fund are you with??? I'm thinking of going back to private health insurance (since I get taxed heaps) and would really appericate it if I could join one that has the benefits you've outlined.

Welcome to the forum and to Cohens NX6.
We have been with Medibaank Priv for many years so our benefits are a little higher than for someone just joining. Having said that it is worth checking out a few to suit your $$$ and needs, we are a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys, I was preparing for teeth and broken limbs (fingers crossed, none yet).

I am also with MBF Private and Xtra cover and I checked with them and they said I couldn't get anything. They only cover WW. Have you put the claim in yet and if so did you do it at an MBF office or through a Medicare office?? I'd love to know. If they have changed their minds I will be claiming the $100 as well.

Hi everyone! I'm also with Medibank Private as a single but i don't think i'll be covered under the insurance part. I'm sure I will be able to claim for my $100 annual bonus though. Cheers, Penny.
 
Hi all. I didn't end up claiming my bonus as I decided to hang onto it for when I claim my $9000+ hearing aides that I needed :eek: . Whilst I get a refund on them, with the extra $$$$$$ it won't be so painful to the hip pocket.
It was only with the once a year bonus that I would have been able to claim not as a regular extra cover refund and it was with Medibank Private not Medicare.

I am with HCF and when I called to ask if they provide any refund of the cost was advised that the clinic needs to register with them and then I will be able to claim some of the price back, they could not tell me ow much but with both my daughter and I doing the programme any bit helps. I have spoken to our consultant and she advises that they will be registering with several of the Health Insurance companies shortly. I have kept my receipts so await that day.:)
 
This so does sound like a great idea.. money back for losing weight to help the clothing fund that I so desperately need. I'm going to check with my fund.. I'm with NRMA. Fingers crossed they do reimburse :)

If they do they will have one happy customer.
