Having troubles getting started

So, basically I've been trying pretty hard to lose some weight. I do have a Weight Watchers book and calculator thing but I've never actually gone to the meetings because I can't really afford it. So, I want to lose weight with the assistance of the weight watchers stuff. I find dieting isn't exactly the easiest thing ever because I don't actually eat properly. I've never ever liked vegetables, as a kid and now. The taste never really sat with me, I just can't stand it. Everyone tells me to eat more of them but I can't because I don't like the taste. I need some tips on good dieting, and exercising. I don't want to start out all hardcore, I'm not in great shape and if I start out hard I won't want to keep going. I will take any tips anyone has for me. Even if you can come up with a little plan I could do, that would be even better. I'm a college student so I can't like work out 3 hours a day, I'm not quite comfortable going to the gym yet so that's out of the question for a couple of months. I just would like to know where to start. I'm 5'2 and I weigh 180lbs, I'd like to get myself back down to 150ish as that is what I used to be.

I'm very much like you, can't stand the taste of vegetables. Here's what I do though, put whatever veggies you want to eat in a grinder along with some fruits like apple, watermelon and that would remove the bitter taste that most vegetables have.

You might want to experiment with different veggies and ways to prepare them so that you can find something you like. I hated cauliflower the way my mom prepared it (boiled to death) but I found a few ways that I really like it now (roasted with s&p). You can even try the tricks people use for kids. I put cooked broccoli, mushrooms and onions in the food processor and put it in the meat for lasagne and pasta sauce. It still tastes good, there are loads of veggies and it is a little cheaper than the all meat version.
