Sport Have to exercise to feel hungry

Sport Fitness
I don't know if some of you on this particular forum know about what I'm going through so I will introduce myself properly here:

My name is Jaymie and I am a recovering anorexic. I am 21 yrs old and have two beautiful children , both boys, 4 and 2 yrs old.

I have been seeking nutritional and emotional advice from this place and have definately found it!! Thanks to all my friends on the Diary portion !! :)

So my question is actually two questions:

I don't feel hungry on the days I don't exercise. And I am making it a point to get at least 1200 or 1300 cals a day so I won't slip back into that starving state of mind. I do alot of weight training and workout 4 to 5 days a week.

So I've noticed if I eat something sweet first , like a banana , or apple, or sugar free pudding I can come about with eating a meal.

But if I don't pay attention it will have been about 5 ot 6 hours and I've eaten nothing (like today) and realize I have only had 800 or 900 calories and its 4:00pm. Which is NOT good.

So is it bad to eat something like a sugar free pudding snack and then have a sandwich? Should I make myself the sandwich and eat it even though I have NO appetite??

Plan to eat something every three hours, and at that certain time, eat whether you are hungry or not. You need those calories and as your body adjusts you will start to be hungry at these times. Your stomach may just be small right now from so long of not eating, and we gotta get it back to size.

okay. So then the sweets before the meal thing is that bad as long as it is calorie concious and the sweets are sugar free and the meal is nonfat??

Why not have a small piece of fruit to fill t hose sweet cravings instead of the SF snack? Much better for the body.

I agree to eat every 3 hours. Make it small protions of complex carbs and lean proteins. :)

At this point I think you should just focus on eating something every 3 hours. Your body needs to rev up its metabolism again and you need to ease back into eating. Congrats on getting help by the way- your sons will be VERY proud of you and VERY happy that you got help.

When you are comfortable eating every 3 hours then take a look at how you can improve. The things you are eating are fine for now. Besides 1200 calories per day is not a lot (I know it's good for you though). But eventually you will want to take it a bit higher. So for now, eat what you want. Just eat :)
