Hi my name Wendy, I started Cohens May 2005 and lost a total of 40 kilos. I started my refeeding at Xmas last year, but didnt finish it. I have put on about 20 kilos and am now back on track at last. Today is my second day of being fully on program with no deviations. I have drunk water everytime I've felt hungry and keep telling myself, when I've seen cakes in cafe's and coffee shop that "I no longer choose to eat that type of food anymore" It worked for today.

I am a busy person, like most others, I work 2 part time jobs and also have a husband and 2 children. Holly who is 14 and Prudence who is 5yrs. I work in the CBD of Melbourne for 3 days a week doing payroll and accounts work and I sell Postie Fashions - ladies clothes on the other 2 or 4 days.

When I had lost all the weight I couldnt understand that I still thought like a fat person. I had to be encouraged by a friend to try on small sized clothes, because I felt they still wouldnt fit me, even though I was a size 10 in pants and size 12 in the top. This time around, I am going to do more stretching and exercise, and also work on the mental issues.

I look forward to hearing and reading people's posts and hope I can help others as well.

thanks Cheers for now, Wendy

Hi & Welcome to the forum!

I know what you mean about the 'thinking like a fat person'. When I look in the mirror, I still see the 255 lb girl I used to be. :p I have heard many people say that it takes the mind a lot longer to catch up to the body. LOL!

I have the opposite problem. I live with the allusion that I am not so fat until I see a picture of myself. Welcome! Good luck. Sounds like you are off to a good start.

Oh Piney - that was me *before* I started losing weight, I always felt thinner or trimmer then I really was. Pictures would knock me for a loop! But now, when I look in the mirror, I still see the 257 pound woman I used to be.

Wendy - welcome to your diary :D
Good for you for getting back on the wagon!

I really feel that the only way a person can keep the weight off is to learn to eat like a thin person does. Eating the food that you're going to be exposed to, what your family is eating, how to handle going out, life's BBQ's etc. If someone is eating a 'prescribed' or 'preplanned' diet, I think they're more likely to gain the weight back once they 'go off the diet' and are back to eating whatever they want again.

It certainly explains the yo-yo-ness of "dieting" in general.

It really is about changing our lifestyles.

Welcome to the WL and you CAN do this :D

Thank you all who have posted to me. Such a welcome with kindness:D
