Weight-Loss Have I terribly butchered my math, or my metabolism?

Weight-Loss

I am a 224lbs, 5'57 23 y/o male, placing me at a BMR right below 2800.

If I multiply that by 1.2 (sedentary) I get 3360, which is roughly FIVE TIMES what I've eaten today. I do still have one more meal to go, but given my numbers I should already be dropping pounds like there was no tomorrow.

If I really want to feel full today, I could go to the store and buy a 400g pizza, which on the label tells me that it has 222 calories per 100 grams, giving the whole pizza a calorie amount of 888 (let's say 900 for measure).
Now, according to this I could potentially eat two of those pizzas and still lose weight, punching in at 1800 calories + 700 from earlier. That would put me at 2500 calories (yay, I can eat two pizzas and lose weight!)

How can I make sense of this?
Have I terribly butchered my math, or my metabolism?

Another site says that 170cm, my height, is 5'7 instead - so I'm unsure which is correct. Just wanted to clear that up.

Ignore the calculators. Spend a week keeping a calorie log of everything that goes into your body (eating as normal as you usually do).

After that week, take 10% off that for a week. See how things go. If you start to lose a little bit a weight, just keep at that until you aren't losing weight any more.

Also, while diet is important, you have to do some weight training. Muscles are what burn calories. So, if you add in some weight training 3 or more times a week, you will see much faster results and it will be easier to eat more without gaining weight.

Thank you allcdnboy, I will log everything I eat the next week (easy to start on Monday). I should also incorporate som cardio and weight traning.

Thank you again for the reply, I'm excited to try and shed pounds in the coming months.

I look forward to the next update. Good luck!
