Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I'll be a little honest, I was kind of disappointed by the third movie and was kind of hesitant towards the fourth... but I was proven wrong!! There were a couple of scenes where Harry's or Hermione's half-acting annoyed me, but for the most part I was completely satisfied. Some people told me they didn't like Mad Eye's mad eye, but I think that's why it was perfect. It is supposed to be creepy and unnerving!

One thing did bug me after the fact though: If the French school was an all-girls school, and the Russian school was an all-boys school, what happens to the wizards in France and the witches in Russia??

Any other thoughts? Plans to see it?

My hubby and i plan to see it if we can get a babysitter for the kids, It will scare the living daylights out of my eldest not to mention my two younger kids.

ahhh i loved it! :D

Went to see the first screening here at 12AM on Friday morning. (yes im addicted... i know!) The whole way through i was just gob smacked.

Definatly not a film for young children i agree.. some scenes i found myself jumping. Haven't cried so much in a film for ages. hehe

Do you know I have neverseen one Harry Potter movie or read any of the books. Maybe Im missing out.

oh my god yes! You are so missing out. Read the books.. they are way better then the films. Lots more detail.. lots more magic. I love them. Each one of my harry potter books ive read at least 3 times. :D Sadly i can't read for pleasure much anymore.. all this damn studying. :(

Goblet of Fire was my favourite book so far in the series, by a long shot. Unfortunately, I didn't like the sixth one (Half-Blood Prince), mainly because of the way that Harry, Ron and Hermione are written. Especially Harry. I won't go into a big rant here, because overall I do really enjoy the series. I just hope the final book will pick up the quality a bit more ;)

I don't read much for pleasure anymore Pinky either... but not because I'm a good girl and study my butt off (like I should), but rather because about 75% of my free time between school and work playing video games!

My husband reads while on the toilet...LOL. I dont even get to go alone to read or read ever for that matter.

Anybody here a Harry Potter fan? I've been reading the books for about three years, since a few months after book five came out (hmm that's actually four years isn't it?). I am a huge fan and was there at the midnight release (though not in fancy dress!) to pick up my copy of book seven. Any other fans here who would like to discuss the series?

I've read them all more times than I can count heh :). I like the films but not as much and wasn't all that struck with the fifth one. My favourite book is definitely this last one tho .. great stuff.
