Soooooo.... aside from my "misconception" of BMR, I looked into HBE and it says I have to eat a total of 2156 to sustain my weight. To lose weight I have to eat 15-20% less of that. So that would be something around 1726. My question is..... is it really asking me to eat 2000 calories a day?

I can barely eat a average sized meal.

My stats are:
Age: 21
Weight: 125-126lbs
Height: 5'2
Ethnicity: Korean
BMR: 1391

If you would spend some time reading around the forum - you'd learn that there really is no precise measurement for calorie intake -that it's merely a guideline and you have to do what's best for your body and see how your body responds... You would also learn that it's best to stay with the high end of calories rather than the low end of calories so you've got some room to adjust down the road.

the 2000 calories, if you were accurate about your activity level would be to maintain your current weight - but that's an approximate and where you are coming into this as -- chronic dieters and people who've routinely put themselves on very low calorie diets will often have done damage to their metabolisms that needs to be repaired.. you repair it - by eating...

Right, I'm trying to up my caloric intake by up to 1388 a day. From other sources like from shapeup.org it says that 1671 calories a day will maintain my weight in contrast to 2000 calories a day. Honestly, I'm concurring with you.... I think 1388 calories a day works for me and hopefully with some workout I'll become healthier and the pounds will finally shed.
