harder exercise, less time?

I have been running lately, and as I get better at it, I have been increasing the time I spend running and walk much less. That means that in doing the two miles I run each day, I spend less and less time actually working out. While the 2 mile track used to take me 30 min, this last time, I got done in only 20...

Do I need to start running a farther distace in order to increase the time?

or is it a sign i'm pushing myself too hard and I should go back to walking more?

OR should I just keep doing what I'm doing?

I want to keep burning roughly the same amount of calories...
 
change it in some way, doesnt hurt to add another mile to it. I say just do 3 milesm itll take you the same amount of time, of course it will also burn more clalories. If you want to burn the same amount of calories eat something like a banana, thats probably about how much more your burning.
 
I agree, just keep doing as much as you can in your 30 min,and compensate w/ more food for the extra calories your burning.progress is great means your cardiovascular system /endurance is getting stronger. dont back down girl keep going :D
 
uggh I alwayz think about walking or joggin. I live up in the woods and i told my self 6 yrs ago when we moved up here that i would hike everyday cuz it only goes up from our home. Well that never happend i alwayz have an excuse. I love the beauty of the woods Its oregon at its finest, but i think how great it would be then my body just doesnt move. I have a 35 min drive home from work and the whole way i tell myself im gonna get out and hike b4 dinner.. well of course never happens. Now within the next 10 days Im moving into a home I bought its in town but a very rural town and thank god one i didnt go to highschool in.. im only 23 so i see ppl all the time i dont wanna see. To make a long story short how do i get myself motivated to get off my a*s and WALK. Ive lost 30 lbs just by diet change and moving more. Im at a point where I wanna start walking schedule. My work is so tiring that by the time i get home i jus wanna relax and maybe play a game on Monkeyroyale.com. Im up at 6 out the door by 730 then i dont get home till 545ish then i go to bed by 8-830. Wow now that i typed it thats way more time than it seems. I guess I just like to make excuses to not walk..Holy Crap I just solved my own prob!! Thank!! Ima slacker!! LMFAO!!! Guess i will log off now and take a quick stroll up the mountain!!! THANK GUYS!!!! LOL
