Hi:

Today is my new beginning!

I have been looking at various weight-loss forums and this is by far the easiest one to use -- I am grateful I found it. I am frustrated with my current weight. I am 215 and it is the most I have weighed in years. I gained it over the past two years while undergoing surgery and having to be still while healing from spine surgeries. I have now been cleared by my doctors to begin walking on my treadmill a half hour a day to start. I also am on a healthy sane diet that is actually sustainable. Many years ago I think I hurt my metabolism by crash dieting. I was able to keep my weight down, but I always went up and down ten pounds.

I am here to get down to 180 lbs. That is the goal I have set for myself. I would like to lose more after I reach my goal of 180, but for now I know that if I were to write 160, I would freak and get scared I might never make it. I want to support others who are also devoted to healthy weight-loss and fitness. I can hardly wait to get to know you all -- I am sure that numbers have more power than going it alone.

So, best to all and I will be posting daily!

We have similar weights and goals. :) I always recommend starting a thread in the diary section of the forum or checking out the challenges. There is a lot of support here, so you've come to the right place. Welcome to the forum!

I also want to reach 180! Metabolism is a funny thing. As you get older it begins to slow down quite a bit. I believe you will demolish the 180 goal and get to 160 by the end of the year at the very least. Just don't over do it and do more harm than good. Listen to your body! This is truly a test of mental power. As long as you're ready to make the change, and I think you are, you will succeed. Welcome to the forum.

I'm very happy to have found this forum. My hubby and I are both starting on a weight management journey. We're both looking to lose 30 pounds. I know the health benefits will be great and having a support group will be greater.
