Hey Nymph hope you had a blast!
i went to Ottawa to see the fireworks then a friends party and stayed up way to late(early depending on how you look at it lol)
no ... unfortunately, i'm in Germany and i'm missing all the celebrations this year ... including Merrit Mountain Music Festival (for those on the west end, i'm sure u all know what that is) and August long ... we had so many parties planned ... :'(
I live in Alberta and I still have no idea what Merrit Mountain Music Festival is. But thats ok. But you're in Germany! You must be having an amazing time over there! I want to go to Germany and visit castles and stuff.
i've done the castle thing ... this is my 4th trip over here and it's totalled over a year now. Everywhere I go, i see castles, so it's not such a big thing (not that it wasn't really, really cool originally). I won't be here for Oktobrefest as I'll be back next month ... but you know what's better ... the Wurstmarkt. It's an annual wine festival and it kicks the crap out of Oktobrefest. With wine, there's no drunk idiots picking fights ... the wine festival starts around 11am and goes till 5am every night ... the beer fest ends at 11pm every night. And, with the Schorle (wine & water - the common drink), you never get a hangover because you're drinking water all night.
... Unfortunately, this is the second week in September, so i'll miss that this year too
well, i just booked a trip to Spain ... i'm meeting up with a friend from Canada that has been touring Europe for the last couple months ... first in Madrid for 4 days and then Ibiza for 6 ... i think that will be enough to make up for what i missed
ok well I'm not Canadian so I can't relate to all this LOL But I saw you're going to Spain so I had to post. Isn't it beautiful there?! I'm assuming you've been before since you're such a traveler. If not, let me tell you it's so nice! But then again, anything aside from what you're used to is just neat. Years back I went on a trip to Spain. We covered all sorts of places...Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Toledo, Cuenca, etc. The list goes on and on.
Funny enough, this is my first trip ... and, oddly, a place that i've always wanted to go, so i'm still not entirely sure why i haven't gone. If it wasn't for my friend travelling right now and bugging me to meet up with her somewhere, i probably wouldn't've even thought about taking a vacation on this trip. But, i'm really looking forward to it ... haven't slept in days
