hrere it goes NO sodas diet reg or whatever feel free to drink latte's,coffee or the best drink WATER! No Fast Foods you all should no what that means if it is a chicken wrap from mcdonals then it's fast food still so NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
No junck foods BUTyou can treat yourself to ANY healthier choice snack 100 calories and under so yes to those 100 cal snack packs of any kind yes to sugar free popsicles yes yes to descent thing you can find 100 cals or less.I am eating my last 160 cal candy apple tonight.
I am going to answer something else to if you have an apple w/ a teaspoon peanut I wouldn't say thats junkfood.
USE your best judgement and common sence and since this is a TOUGH ONE I will add +10 point's to the already 7 bonus points you get but the only way to get the 10 is to had 7 DAYS OF THE 3 NO'S!:beerchug:

So we can drink 300cal sugary lattes but no sugar free 0 cal diet soda????

And so is a 300cal (including dressing) grilled chicken salad from McD's considered fast food even though it's healthy and good for you? I'm confused here. I mean, I am on the go a lot due to my job, and sometimes this is a quick and easy way for me to eat something healthy.

Sodas — even diet ones — may be linked with increased risk factors for heart disease and diabetes, researchers said on Monday.

They found adults who drink one or more sodas a day — diet or regular — had about a 50 percent higher risk of metabolic syndrome — a cluster of risk factors such as excessive fat around the waist, low levels of “good” cholesterol, high blood pressure and other symptoms.

“When you have metabolic syndrome, your risk of developing heart disease or stroke doubles. You also have a risk of developing diabetes,” said Dr. Ramachandran Vasan of Boston University School of Medicine, whose work appears in the journal Circulation.

Ok, I thought this week's bonus is to promote healthy eating. Therefore, I do not see how a 300calorie salad is bad--regardless of where it comes from. Also, I do not want to eat a soggy sandwich that has been sitting in my car for 4hrs or a salad that has wilted due to the same reason. Not to mention that it can spoil in that time frame. And a frozen meal is much worse than a McD's salad--full of sodium and preservatives, etc. I don't mean to be a nitpicking pain, but this just doesn't make sense to me. Also, what about Subway? Is that considered fast food if I have a low-cal/fat sub or salad? To me fast food is burgers and fries.
 
Haha I was going to ask the same questions about the salads and stuff that bikini asked as I hardly get burgers and fries anymore most of the time i get a salad and limit the dressing if i use any. thats part of why i voted on the fruits/veggies... lol I want to do the bonus just don't know if its going to be possible everyday of the week.. ugh.. I'll do my best.
 
Not trying to stir the coffee pot, but you know those lattes have lots of cals (even the lite ones do) and lots of sodium - even more so than diet pop.

The only low cal coffee is a regular with nothing added to it, but even that has sodium (I think.) But I can handle the no diet pop rule as long as I can have my cup a joe (not latte though!) :)
 
I am running around to soccer games and tournaments this weekend...is it OK to go to a sit down restaurant and get a salad...if not I have to sacrafice my extra 10 points:(
 
Just my 2 cents: I don't think salads should count as fast food. When I was voting I assumed it would be things like: burgers, fries, onion rings, sodas etc. I think making the healthy choice is better than going without! There are lots of times where there is no time to cook. Like when remodeling our house there isn't a working stove/fridge and anything we make could spoil. sigh. Anyway to review those rules? Though the money I will save will be nice;)
 
Right. I think the whole point of this challenge is to make healthy choices when under time constraints. The point is that we choose a healthy salad over a Big Mac and fries when at McD's is the goal, imo. Learning to eat healthy in the fast food world is possible.

And yeah, those coffee drinks are loaded with cals. Like Sweatpea said, only the regular coffee is low cal, sugar. A latte or cappucino is full of naughty stuff.

This week's challenge is about making very wise choices as to what we are eating, concentrating on all the foods that are healthy for us. I have gone to food providers website before and looked up nutrition information to make sure I choose something healthy and acceptable calorie wise. We should all use our best judgement to determine what is considered fast food.
I personally never choose McDonalds and like restaurants but just because somebody goes there does not necessarily means they eating food that is bad for them.
It is all about learning to make the best decisions and stick to healthy food!!!!
That said, I don't care what kind of sodas you are drinking it is not good for you and should be on the no-no list. Straight coffee with a no calorie natural sweetener. (Stevia per say), should be allowed or I am afraid a lot of co-workers will not be happy this week... LOL
Honestly those 100 cal. pack snacks are not that good for you either.
I am guilty of eating them too but only in moderation. An apple (80 cal), 1/2 c. cottage cheese (80 cal) and I could tell you about 15 more choices are so much healthier for snacks... A lot more nutrition in the same amount of calories.
On the other hand i would be lost if no frozen meals were allowed!!! I try to make a healthy choice regarding those too but I am afraid i consume far more sodium than I should.
Let's keep this challenge challenging but FUN!!! We should all have fun at this so it makes us sticking to it!!!

The 100 cal pks aren't the best and if it were up to me I would say fruit and veggies only for snacking BUT I don't want people feeling deprived and eating like 20 brownies or a gallon of ice cream because their sweet tooth drove them crazy.
SO SINCE YOU ALL ARE RIPPING MY HEAD OFF :boxing: SALDS AND THINGS OF THE LOWFAT MENUE ARE OK JUST NO GREASY FOODS AND STILL NO SODA POPS OR LATTES WHATEVER DRINK WATER COFFEE NATURAL JUCES ECT DEAL?????:D
 
:D I wanted to let you all know I really value your opions and this is how we clear things up before the challange takes off.The ripping head off was sarcastic/joking/thing.:beerchug: You all had gr8 points salads are gr8 for ya just watch the dressing and even a subway sub even tho it has like 1,000 sodium grams is way better than a big fat greasy burger.
Matter of fact I rarely watch my sodium because I am still struggling with the calorie fat thing lol!GL ALL :newangel:

Yay!!! Thanks Tammy!!! lol I am such a whiner baby;) I just gave up on the challenge for today (12 hours rebuilding and refinishing cabinets in the future house) and went to Wendy's. I was going to just have a frescata turkey sandwich but because I already figured I was losing points for fast food I tacked on an order of fries... now don't I feel stupid;) lol So tommorow back on the ball but I got my workout in.... 12 hours of it! sheesh!

I think this is a great challenge!!! I really need this kick in the rear. I think I may be addicted to diet soda, so this week will be rough.

Also, this week we should all be saving money for our costumes, since we wont be spending it on fast food!!!
