haha...grunting=teh banned!

no way!!!!

Thats crazy!

i can understand why they did it, i went to a gym and there was all these huge guys flexing in the mirror and shouting and grunting and making noise it creates a strange atmosphere there so when she says that they want a inclusive environment to train in i can understand her needless to say i don't work out at that gym

Ditto.
Really annoying to hear guys grunt, and slam the weights down...

I understand the idea behind the rule. Some people prefer the "health club" environment to the traditional sweaty gym environment - something for everyone I guess.

I do think the rule is a bit over the top, but if the majority of their clientele is the "health club" type, not the manly iron gym type, then they are just catering to the majority of their membership.

When I worked out at the gym, I hated those guys. There was this one guy that isntead of grunting, he'd make REALLY loud noises that sounded like air brakes, and everyone looked at him like "SHUT THE F UP!?!". Then there was this 1 guy on the treadmill that moaned for like 15 seconds every couple of mins. A couple people thought it was pretty funny, but he moaned so damn load...very distracting.

But having cops take him out? Lunk alarm? A little too much lol.

Yeah, the lunk alarm thing is a bit much. I think the cops were only used b/c he started acting like a jacka*s when they told him to leave. It couldn't have been too much of a surprise to him, I mean, he knew the rule was there, so why get all irate when they enforce it?

Rules like that need to be enforced on a case by case basis. If I got kicked out for the dropping the db's on my sides or letting some audible groans, I'd be pissed too.

Most of the examples you guys gave warrant some kind of authoritative response if the rules were the same, but this one doesn't. It's stupid to enforce such broad rules so generally just because the rule is there. You have to remember why the rule was put there, and enforce accordingly.

Yeah...he grunted. While squatting 500 freakin pounds. If little pussies in the gym get intimidated by someone squatting 500 lbs, then maybe they shouldn't buy that many plates.

I say ban the 250lb guy who slams the 60lb DB's around like he's somebody.
