gym-free excercise

hi!
ok so i just joing today and i know one of my major weightloss issues is excercise. i refuse to join a gym. i'm very self-concious and i have trouble bringing myself, sometimes, to even go out in public cause i'm just so disgusted with myself. i can't bring myself to work out when other people are around. so a gym is pretty much out of the question, for now anyway.
anyway despite my refusal to go to a gym i know i need to excercise to loose weight and become healthier. i was wondering if any one knows anything i can do at home? i have a treadmill and i use it but i need to find some kind of muscle strengthing excercises and toneing. any suggestions?

for general exercise what about one of those fittness videos? you can buy some small weights and use the videos in the comfort of your own home. I got a dance video that i use everynow and then and its really good. :D
 
having a tredmill is a great start, I love mine!! I agree w/ Pinky, excersize videos and some hand held weights are great ways to loose weight and build muscle. You can also do alot of sit ups and push ups as well.
 
add squats and lunges to the list. great excerises for the legs and butt! Check your TV for excerise shows in the morning. I first learned about lifting wieghts correctly by watching a few shows on TV, I believe it was a sports channel. They did excerise and weight training shows till noon before switching back to sports. I learned a lot and have enjoyed wieght lifting since, and the effect on my body as well!!! Also was extremely great for my bad back. Toning up my muscles made for more pain free days.;)
 
my cable has "on demand" exercise tv shows. i can pick one and do it anytime i want. :)
