Green Tea Extract

I have been trying to lose a few pounds and I bought this supplement called "Super Green Tea Extract" because I don't believe miracle weight loss pills are healthy and wanted to try something natural.

The bottle reads:

"Weight loss aid
-boosts metabolism
-curbs appetite
-burns calories
Herbal supplement.

Green tea extract is a bio-flavonoid-rich, potent antioxidant that is important for fighting free radicals. EGCG, a key ingredient in green tea, supports metabolism and helps manage weight."

I took this supplement inconsistently for about 2 weeks and saw no difference, but I'm sure I would have to have taken it consistently for a much longer period of time to notice any change if it does work. I have read before that green tea can help boost the metabolism and curb hunger by making you feel full. But my question is, do you think this really works? Has anyone tried this and seen results, or lack thereof? It's kind of expensive and I don't want to keep buying it if it doesn't work.

You shouldn't put stock in any thing being a miracle pill...natural or artificial. Nothing beats hard work to burn fat.

The best fatburner I've seen that had any valid research done on it was the ECA stack, and that only burned an extra 100 calories a day (plus suppress appetite and give you some energy boost).

I don't expect anything to be a miracle pill whatsoever. I don't believe in that at all. I exercise regularly and watch my diet. I was just wondering if it gave an extra boost to weight loss at all.

some studies say yes, but very little. other studies say no.

if you want green tea, just drink it. the extract isn't worth it, and at least you get a little caffine boost with the tea.

Yes, I drink green tea as well, and actually the supplement does have some caffeine. But I agree, it doesn't seem worth it.
