The reason why green tea works for weight loss is that the ingredients found in it stimulate your metabolism. This means all of the exercising that you do, either high or low impact, will be more successful as your body will learn to burn fat at a faster rate. Green tea also helps the body to metabolize carbohydrates.

There are some myths about green tea though that you need to be aware of. Any type of herbal tea is not to be used as a replacement for meals. The rumor that if you drink two cans of it a day for a week you will lose twenty pounds is not true. You also need to watch what you eat and get plenty of exercise while you consume green tea for you to see results in regards to your weight. It can be a great supplement for a quality weight loss program but don’t expect to drink it and then get skinny without any effort on your
