Sport Gourmet Nutrition 2.0

Sport Fitness
Some of you may know I purchased the Precision Nutrition program last year. Included was the greatest book I thought I had seen. Gourmet Nutrition cookbook.

In December Gourmet Nutrition 2.0 was released and I received it for Christmas. I must say this is the best thing since GN 1. The book quality and recipes are great. The cost is 39.99 + S/H and well worth double the price.

Thanks for the mini-review. we've been looking for some new recipes...and I gotta tell you, Bill Phillips Eating for LIFE must've been written for people that can only cook mac n' cheez. I swear the recipes are mostly as basic as "broil some salmon and bake a sweet potato", or "mix cottage cheese with non fat, no sugar added yogurt".

after reading the 8 pages of sample.pdf, I ordered GN 2.0

is 2.0 all new recipes or is it an updated edition with the recipes from Precision Nutrition, plus new ones?

I just didn't see a GN 1.0 available for sale.

I'm ordering Precision Nutrition this week.

I'm always open to new ways of dieting and training and I've heard very good things about JB's stuff.

This is an all new book with 100 new recipes. You'll probably want to eat the pages. I know I do.

Thanks for the info Tony.

Too lazy to look myself.... is the book solely recipes or does JB go into other stuff too?

Delves a little into how to "use" the book to work for you. Its mainly a cookbook that opens your eyes to creating healthy dishes that taste great. The info is more in the PN kit of course.

Not to knock JB or anybodys work, but I think if you have a really good grasp on NT then you probably may find the PN info a little lacking. However with it you still get a copy of the original GN in printed copy.

very cool

JB always produce nice books and the food tastes awesome!

I was pleasantly surprised to get his email about version 2.0 ... cool

Got my copy thursday. have given it the cursory once-over. I was happy to see that the majority of the recipes aren't really weird concoctions. I have a few 'healthy eating' cookbooks that are downright bizarre.

I did see a few typos. Can't recall the recipe, but the protein count is actually the total calories.
I am a little bummed that for $40 plus $10 shipping, its not hardcover. Oh well.

No that meal really has 566g of protein. :)

Besides the cover, the book quality is top notch. I just finished making the Texas Thin Crust pizza and the Green Cuisine Fritatta. The pizza is awesome.

ahahahah, so you're familiar with that recipe too I see.

We're planning meals for next week...I'll post what we end up having. I'm REALLY curious to try that peaches n' cream omlette. It sounds weird at first, but the egg white omlette probably comes out very crepe like.

Ya that is a weird one. So far Ive had only one bad taster, the Blueberry Madness Smoothie. I actually reverted to GN 1 for shakes.

I have made the French Toast, Thin Crust Texas Pizza, Green Cuisine Frittata, Baked Chicken Strips, and Ground Turkey Casserole. I will be making the Caesar Salad tomorrow along with the Banana Nut Bars. Soon I will have the Ranchers Omelette because that just looks awesome.
