Got calf muscle strain or slight tear. Need help please guys

I've been told by a doctor i've got a smalle tear on my calf muscle which is cauing me a little pain sometimes. It goes off and then comes back then goes off again so it cant be that bad a tear. But, I suffer from terrible insomnia so need to jog in order to exhaust myself enough to be able to get any sleep at night. I was wondering, I have to rest my calf muscle or try not to do too much so it can have a chance at healing properly, but how can I exhaust myself so I can get to sleep at night? Is using a rowing machine ok? I've been told becuase its non contact its it wont be slammin against my heel like the pavement would be when I jog.

By the way, I have to go for a jog at night rather than day cos if i go in the day my recovers quite quickly and then my energy levels build up again to the point where I cant get any sleep. So thats why I jog at night. What about one of those elliptical cross trainer machines? Are they any good?

Please guys I need help cos i'm still having to jog to get to sleep and i'm afraid that I might have to make a choice between resting ym calf and not getting any sleep for 4 weeks, plus my depression, anxiety and stress getting a lot worse (exercise make all that go away), or risking injuring my calf even more just so I can actually get to sleep and keep my depression, anxiety and stress under control.
