Sport Good healthy cereals?

Sport Fitness
I was wondering. I hear that it's important to start off the day with a good breakfast. Well, I decided to add 2 boiled eggs to my breakfast everyday, starting today. But, I was just wondering. Anyone know of any cereal thats particularly very healthy? I used to eat Count Chocula, and all those kids cereals becuase they are UBER tasty. However, since I am going to go "healthier" now, I think it about time I switch. Anyways. Recommendations?

I eat Bulgur wheat. 1g fat, 25g carb, 10g protein.

Others include
-Oatmeal ( less processed the better)
-Oat bran
-Cracked wheat
Good site:

Nobody, try Quaker 100% Natural Granola, Oats Honey and Raisins its pretty good. Just add some milk and eat a few egg whites and your good for your protein in the morning. Its also good to mix with yogurt for a snack. Total also has a high protein cereal that tastes good. You can get both of these at any grocery store.

Question in regards to eggs. Is it okay to eat the yolk? Will it do anything bad? How about fried eggs, with the yolk and all. Any good?

Kashi cereal

Whole eggs in moderation, the whites have just as much protein as the yolks but none of the fat and cholesterol. 1 whole egg to every 6 whites makes tasty scrambled.

I'm pretty strict on food. I don't like wasting anything at all....hrmm...I guess it won't really do me too much harm if I eat the yolks. Keep in mind, I am a 16 year old growing boy...

Have a dog? Cook em up for your dog, she'll love it. If not, have a garden? Compost it. If not any of those, cook em up for some hobo.

make devil'd eggs with the yolks and give em to skinny homeless people :)

a few yolks are ok, and if you're not in a cutting phase, they're ok. yes yolks have cholesterol and fats, but egg whites contain lecithin which partially counteracts the cholesterol and doesn't allow it to stay in the bloodstream (I wish I'd bookmarked the article I had on this, so I could share it).

As for cereals - Per serving: it should contain at least 3g of fiber for every 100calories, and should contain less sodium per mg than it does calories.
So a 170calorie serving should have 5g or more of fiber, and less than 170mg of sodium.

You'll find 95% of cold cereals don't stack up to these criteria...mostly it'll be stuff like Oatmeal, Uncle Sam's, multi-grain Chex, All Bran, Fiber One, most Shredded Wheat, and many lesser known organic's. Most of the Kashi line is also able to meet these standards.

i think it amazes most people to learn just how little sugar is in most of those cerials. Lucky charms is actually one of the lowest sugar cerials out there.

I like frosted mini wheats and anything that says total. There is a new cerial that has real strawberries in it. Though I am sure I have said this a dozen times on numerous other threads- if you mix just about any cerial -even kids cerial- with oatmeal than all you will taste is the good cerial and it will be a great healthy breakfast. Keep it 3/4 oatmeal and your not even cheating, though I tend to stick to mostly fiber cerials.

The fast way is to just look for any cerial that claims to be healthy and look at the fiber content and the carb/sugar content and you have your answer.

Alright, so, since I have those 18 packs to go through, this is what you suggest;

3/4 of the oatmeal, and 1/4 cereal?

Alright, I guess, one whole pack of eatmeal however is rather small unless it is like, heated, so it inflates...

If I do it like that, I can make it 1/2 oatmeal, 1/2 cereal, since the other way would be a rather small breakfast. And of course, two whole hard boiled eggs. :)

But If I open another pack than the nutritional value; mainly Sugar, and calories, for the oatmeal will total 300 cal and 24g sugar. :(

Oh, than use two whole packs or two and a half. I myself am a hearty eater. When you are done with what you have perhaps you can graduate to real oatmeal.

how about Post's classic whole wheat cereal??
