good deal?

hi, somebody on another forum is selling some weights, and i'm wondering if it's a good deal. he is selling 53kg of cast iron weights with barbell and dumbbells, weights bench with leg extension/curl attachment and 2 x 5kg concrete filled dumbbells for £60.

is that a good deal?

as some of you may know i've been looking for dumbbells and barbell, and a weights bench seems like a good idea too. the only problem is that i don't have loads of room to store the weights bench. do you think i need a weights bench or could i just go with th barbell and dumbbells?

cheers

I think it sounds OK. look on ebay as well though

Cast iron plates are a good buy, they're better than gold for retaining value :)

so d'you think i should go for the cast iron weights with the barbell and dumbbells, and leave the concrete and weight bench?

Totally up to you. If you have space for a bench then I'd take that too. My comment about cast iron plates and value was just a financial consideration, not a fitness one. Usually you can sell on iron plates for the same price you paid for them so they're a pretty risk free investment.

Given the choice I'd always rather have a bench than not but they do devalue over time, you have to use them to get value from them. So if I were you, if you're going to use the bench then buy it

thanks for the advice. i'll have to see if there is anywhere that i can fit the bench.
