Easy enough question I guess.

I live with my family who are anything but healthy eaters, and I have decided to just go to the store and buy some food for myself. I am just starting out with this whole weight loss thing (you can see my introduction in the newcomers section...I just posted it). What should I DEFINITELY pick up?

Quick Facts...

Food that you will eat...

What's your meal plan going to be for the week? It's tough doing grocery shopping without knowing what you'll be eating...

I'd suggest starting simple.

Chicken breasts...
Vegetables that you'll eat

(that will cover a dinner or three depending on how many chicken breasts you get)

High fiber/low sugar cereal for breakfast

Fruits for snacking purposes

My shopping list looks like this....

Jumbo egg whites
2% cheese crumbles
mushrooms
onions
broccoli
skim milk
No sugar added Alpen, or Steel cut oats
unprocessed almonds
sweet n low
whole grain bread
steam fresh veggie bags
tuna cups in water
sweet potato
peaches
blueberries
sugar free cool whip
chicken breasts
bison
fish
greek yogurt, 2% PLAIN
pam spray
60 calorie sugar free pudding cup (once in a while)
whole grain frozen french toast (once a month).

This doesn't mean you should eat the same things. You need to make for yourself what you will eat.

I usually go 2x a week, so i don't buy all that at once. My family doesn't eat clean, so there's plenty of 'crap' around, you got to make the choice not to eat the wrong stuff, even though it might be around.

Good Luck
