Sport GL diet

Sport Fitness
Ok - I'm not into gimmicky diets and have always ate a (what I considered to be healthy) a lowfat & balanced diet.

Just bought The Holford Low-GL diet book. Has anyone looked at it? Any thoughts?

I have not read it, but checked out the amazon.com info. Some of the stuff the book talks about makes sense. For example this is from the book synopsis: "2. Eat protein with carbohydate and If you lose blood sugar control, you gain weight and feel hungry and tired. If you gain blood sugar control, you lose weight and feel happy and full of energy."

That much I agree with. Controlling blood sugar and feeling great while doing it is one of the what I call 4 nutrition tenets.

Let us know what you think when you are done reading it.

Well, it's really strange, and there are a couple of things I've changed (after 5 years of the exactly same eating habits!), but I've noticed my jeans are much looser today!

Firstly I am eating 3 meals a day with snacks (where as I only ever ate 2 - a big breakfast and a big main meal about 4pm)

Secondly I have cut down of fruit, and eaten loads of oats - and I mean LOADS because I love them! This replaces the All-bran I've been eating since the year dot.

Thirdly I'm drinking lots of green tea.

So, it's weird - I'm probably eating loads more calories than I was ever eating. Another mystery!

It's what I tout on this board ALL the time :)

Eat 5-6 small meals a day. And eat enough calories to actually sustain your life. Im really happy you are experiencing great results. Continued success :)
