Getting really tired and simply need help.

Hi guys/girls,
I hope that I'm posting this in the right place but I am newbie so go easy!
I'm a 20 year old, very active male, 6 ft. 2 and weigh 92.2kg (last time I measured almost a month ago).
I'm training to become a PE teacher and on the verge of football refereeing in semi professional game so have been very keen to lose some weight over the last few years. However, I really have had little progress.

My body is an absolute nightmare, my ribs are clearly visible, however I have a fairly big stomach and hips and a degree of fat around the pectorals ("moobs" if you like).

I have fairly muscular arms/shoulders too, but nothing excessive just for added knowledge.

I know full well I drink probably too much lager but not stupid amounts however bar that my diet is OK.

I've ran half marathons in fairly decent times and referee too a good standard regularly so fitness is certainly not a problem and I play sports/run probably upto 5 times a week and go too the gym 1/2 a week.

Please someone help... Where on earth am I going wrong ?!?

Welcome to the forum :)

What is your diet like ? usually when looking at somebodies diet, on the surface it may seem ok, but when looked at closely there are often areas which need to be changed to reach your goals. What are your macro's (protein, fat, carbs) how many calories, and food intolerance's also need to be considered, especially if your gut seems bloated.

your running is great for reffing but your gym work is probably not optimal to reaching your goal, although a 2 day gym routine can work ok it depends on what exercises you are actually doing in the training session, including choosing the correct intensity and load.

The most visited section of the forum is the diary section, this is where you will get the most support in achieving your goals.

Thanks for the response and advice !

If anything I don't think I eat enough, as I'm a university student. Usually start the day with some fruit and bran flakes or fried egg on toast, then I'll have perhaps a breakfast bar type thing for lunch, a sandwich for mid afternoon snack and then for tea pasta/chicken breast and veg, bacon/egg and sausage or the occasional pizza. Actually, reading that I can't believe how poor my tea schedule is haha!

Over last week or so I've been making a very conscious effort too drink 2/3 litres of water a day, however it's making me need the toilet an awful lot !

Are you on campus eating meals cooked by somebody else or do you have your own cooking facilities on or off campus ? What are your portion sizes like?

in the beginning it can be very helpful to measure everything as most people are not very good at estimating portion sizes.

I'd second the recommendation to start a thread in the diary section - lots of support on there. I remember my Uni days well... not an awful lot of healthy eating took place! Sure you'll get some good advice from others like Tru on here but would recommend diary section x
