Getting ready for track

Ok.. I'm 15 years old.. 133 lbs and im about 5' 7 1/2.. track practice just started for this year. But I'm not going to do it this year due to an injury i had about 3 monthes ago.. I tore a ligiment in my left ankle, and the doctor says it's still healing a little bit. But I do want to do track next year, and I want to know what I need to do if I'm going to be a sprinter. I do work out about every other day lifting weights and I go a mile on a resistance bike. I'm wondering what I need to do in order to get faster in a year, and what I need to do for better endurance..

do soem resistance work with your legs simmulating running...

Some balance work, like single leg squats or lunges on a bosu ball or sit-fit would be a good idea to get some stability in that ankle. Go to GNC and pick up something called Tri-Flex, it contains MSM, chondroitin, and glucosamine. This will help rebuild the connective tissues in your annkle as well. Check with your doc of course before taking any suppliments though, it can have adverse effects on certain medications for epilepsy as well as a few other conditions.

I recently injured my knee doing some sparring drills. Tore my MCL, and patellar ligament almost completely. With tri-flex, glutamine, and some aggressive rehab I was back to kicking in 12 weeks.

thanks for giving me some suggestions.. within two weeks of tearing my ligiment i was off crutches and walking.. with minor pain at the end of the day.. and within 2 monthes i was running almost at full speed.. i might ask my doctor about that.. thanks
