This may sound like a rant, but I'm in serious need of some advice...
I would like to get cut up a bit, and I have two months to do so. I have no history of sports, or physical activity up to the age of about 22 with me being in the gym more off then on. I am now 28, father of 3 daughters, and am constantly at work.
I have read so many articles, listen to so much advice I am going to explode. One month I hear to drink a lot of water, the next month too much water washes out the good supplements from food. I hear diets that talk about good carbs, bad carbs, no sugar, protein, low calories, high calories, etc. etc.
I was an overweight teenager, so the thought of a handful thing of almonds having 200 calories but being healthy confuses me when a small bag of chips have 140-190 calories.
I need a workout plan... 5-7 days a week broke down for me. If day one is back and biceps, I need to know how many sets and reps and exercises I need to do for each group. I need to know (with my goal of getting lean) if I'm shooting for heavy weights/low reps, or light reps/high reps.
I need to know what kind of food I can eat on the limited budget I have.
Sorry for all the typing, just frustrated with people at work, magazines, website, etc. telling me different things. I need someone who is educated, and who has had results with what I am asking. I'm not 6'3, not a former wrestler or football player, etc. I'm a 28 year old father, who is trying to make up for time and get into shape that makes me happy when I look into the mirror.
Huge thanks to any help, advice, etc. I can get.
