Getting Back Into Working Out

I used to exercise regularly. Fast forward 50 pounds.

The first thing I noticed when I was on the treadmill was how low my stamina was. Not only that, my shins and feet HURT like mad. Am I risking an injury, or should I push through it? I can pretty much avoid the pain with a fast walk. But then I see people killing themselves right next to me and I think, "do I have to be doing that?" My thinking is as long as I get my heart rate into the 75% region, I'm doing just fine. I've never been a "heavy sweater" anyway.

Yeah you should get a check-up. Most of people get twisted ankles and they never feel during treadmill. you should better checked this up from your physician.

IMO,
I would say to stop if you feel pain, you are risking injury. Have you worked up to running? generally, one does a walking program before progressing into running. When you say people killing themselves next to you, do you mean they are fit and working at intensity? or, pushing through pain? (I hope not!)

Stamina will come gradually as you train. Easy does it starting out especially if your heavy!
