Getting back in shape

Hi,

I'm a 14 year-old female and I noticed my usual routine isn't effective.
What I'm doing : strength training (3 reps of : dips, bicep curls, different crunches, squats, push-ups) 3x / week and cardio (kickboxing or jogging) 4-5x / week
I'm wondering if what I've been doing is total crap and if there are other forms of cardio exercises I could do since I'm getting bored of doing kickboxing and jogging.
For breakfast I have cereal or oatmeal, for lunch and dinner I'd have what there is in school or home but keeping them in proportions. I usually have a bread and a drink (orange juice/berry drink) or sometimes I replace it with a fruit or have all three.
I've heard of circuit training and high interval training but I'm not sure as to what I should do along with them and how often. Also are there other effective exercise routines other than the usual (strength 3x/week along with cardio) ? I'm not really concerned about my weight but I just want to keep generally fit, toned and slim.

If you are bored with jogging and kickboxing you may replace them with swimming, that is a good form of cardio.
Why are you doing strength training? Just for yourself? May be simple do 2-3 workouts with high reps per week and once in 2 month change exercises and order you do them, this way you wont get bored.
These two are enough to keep your body fit and toned.

If you will see that your weight is adding you can always add cardio in the morning on empty stomach, that works amazing.

Good luck!

What you're doing actually doesn't look too bad on paper. You could do better, but you could also do a lot worse. At least you're squatting, which is a big 1-up over the majority of people. How would you know if what you're doing is effective or not? Without objective, definitive measures of what progress towards your goals would look like, there's no way of saying whether what you're doing is working or not.

Make your exercise routine an enjoyable activity. Vary your physical activity in a week. There are several exerices you may try like dancing, aerobics, cycling, mountain climbing, wall climbing and the list goes on. You may also try joining a sport club at school or have an exercise partner. It prevents boredom in performing a routine when you have someone to talk to and share the same goal.
