Get it.

Hey guys. It's me, miss_christi. I decided to make a new account. The old one just wasn't cutting it for me anymore.
A lot has happened lately. Let me fill you in.
Andree and I moved back to Arizona. We just couldn't handle Cali anymore.
1. It's too expensive.
2. My asthma and the humidity do not get along!
3. Andree's immune system doesn't get along with Cali weather either.
4. I missed my family and friends!

So, we're back. We live with my Dad again, which I'm really happy about. I missed him. The radiation from his cancer two years ago, has really taken a tole on his body. His cheeks are really puffed up, and he's gained weight because all he's been eating is malts due to his throat, where the cancer was. He can't eat solids, because the inside of his throat looks like marshmallows. So, I need to find out what I can due to help him. If you have any ideas on what he can eat, or drink rather, let me know. Remember, no solids. He can handle things like soup sometimes, but it's mostly liquid.
As for me, I've gained 30 pounds in the last two years, and that's just got to go. I've got a kitchen to cook in now, I've got my eliptical trainer back, and really there's no more excuses. The entire time I was in California, I said "If only I had the eliptical, I'd be okay". Now I have it, so GET IT.
My Dad got his 100% disability status from the VA, which is good. His money problems will cease to exist. I'm really excited about that. I'm also happy because, as long as I'm in school, I can get $800/month from the VA. That will cut the work load down a lot. I'll still work, but only part time.
So, the plan!
Right now, I'm just getting off fast food, and regular soda. Slow and steady wins the race, right Stingo? :D
Each week I'll add a new change.
I'll post my stats later. :]

Lots of life changes there Christi, so I guess it's not surprising you wanted a new username too. As you already know, making good decisions on a daily basis is critical to achieving your goal, and this is particularly and especially true of your food choices. That said, start small and go from there.

Sorry to hear about your dad - that's a tough road to tread for sure, both for you and him. But it sounds like it is bringing you closer together, and other life changes that are for the good.

Heya

Good luck with your quest. I have been on a similar path, getting off junk food and soda. I can still have my blow outs but this site has helped me heaps.

Small steps to make big changes!

Miss_Christi.......he, he :)

Get it!.........What a great set of words........yes....

You have the personal builders permit to: GET IT

You have the personal tool kit to: GET IT.

You have the mess kit to: GET IT.

You have your motivation closely knit to: Get it.

You can remove all your personal crap cause you possess your personalized toilet kit to: GET IT.

And, I have something for you, young lady, that just may help you along.

One time some years+ back, my routine went something like this:

Loitering on the couch sipping cups of coffee and attending to my daily rest room piss rituals; sitting on the couch feeding my fat with Doritos, and my favorite Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, exercise was a disease not a friend, eating was the CHAMP!

Oh!......I can catch up on it tomorrow; delaying matters that needed "personal" immediate attention; fluffing around on the couch and staying up late nights watching the TV instead of catching up on my sleep; pushing important tasks to aside to 2morrow: "Oh, I can do that later..........geesh......what's the hurry......

The days accumulated and the consequences kept adding up and my slips started showing - my back was killing me, and I was fatigued during work hours; the chair my living room, seemed to grow arms and welcome me---even treating me as a part of furniture; my friends (the Doritos and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups), we calling my name in the kitchen, and every time I gazed into my wife's eyes, I could see her diminishing health, and it seemed the only guy who loved me was Sabar, our dog, who was my best friend,---when eating Doritos and Peanut Butter.

I was a fun loving human being, but procrastination turned me into a lazy dog and from lazy dog I was turning into a sloth pig (IMO).

I had to do something to shake off my procrastination and restore my self-confidence. I knew my path to salvation lied in my self-determination, but I needed some help. I took my wife's diminishing health and laid bare my soul, and from there on began my journey of redemption - my wife would now be my guide and mentor and she would help me shrug off my procrastination, and likewise repair my old and hurting lower back. I give her the love she deserves.

As I look back, I realize that shaking off procrastination is not as difficult as it seems.

Here are some of the measures I resorted to - and here's what I did:

1. First of all, I had to steel my mind.

The Doritos and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, still hound me daily and nightly, I can hear them today........They smile all the time, I return the evil eye.

I began by immediately attending to important tasks and slowly got a grip on myself.

2. I started thinking positively........It encased my mind.

I trashed all the negative feelings I had (and they were many), and I painted everybody with the color of sunlight (with common sense) and my whole thinking process changed for the better.

The cobwebs in my mind cleared and I began looking at people and things in a new perspective.

3. Thinking positive...... gradually pushed away all the self-defeating thoughts that used to lurk in my mind. "Can't" became "can; "Shall not" turned into "Will do", and things began changing........in my life, and it began to effect my wife and other family members beyond belief.

4. Gradually, I began planning for tasks and began enjoying the process too! And, the undying spirit grew, and when I sit the same couch, it knows not to extend those arms, or I will break them the F--CK off.

5. Ok........at first it wasn't easy....or something magical, because I had to break down important tasks into small do-able pieces and then attend to them.

But, with time, I found I could manage monstrous tasks in a snap: Because--I STOLE MY MIND BACK.

Today, the sun shines brightly on me.........yep it does....with my successes, I have sometime failed, however, I got back up---> and "command the respect" I deserve.........

"Command the respect you deserve", Young lady.

GET IT!

Best wishes,

Chillen

Stayen' with Miss_Christi (Steena!)...............

Lets create a PARTY IN YOUR HEAD to shred all the DREAD!

He, he, buh,,,,,huh!........>:)

Sail against the WIND; this is your FRIEND; it will UNBIND one BLIND

Never Fear Shadows it is a Sign of Light Near By

==========================================================

Turn your face to your shadow; you have this shadow due to your unique inner GLOW. Do not make a self-coffin, there will be no external shadow to SHOW.

(Chillen)

==========================================================

We can live one life or several different lives dependent upon the state of our mind.

Unwind your MIND, and your goal will follow BEHIND.

(Chillen)

Your state of mind shifts and what was once a priority may not necessarily be today. Sometimes, it only takes a short time to change some views, while other times, it can take much longer to change a person's view in certain matters.

You will be constantly learning a lesson or two in life. And, there are lessons so big that totally make you rethink your entire position in life.

The size of the lessons that you learn in life do not matter. This same rule can also be applied to the paths that you have chosen before. Always keep in mind that you should be in charge of your life and your preceptive feelings.

Therefore, you should be able to change what you do not like. It does not matter what others have to say about you. You always have choices, if you are willing to see them.

Do not make an internal coffin. Rather apprehend a close friend; change your frame of MIND it will never lead you BLIND, and allow positive perception to UNWIND.

(Chillen)

==========================================================

Additional thoughts:

Every decision you make in life is based on your belief system.

To open your mind, start to list your fundamental beliefs, and for each one ask yourself why you believe it.

Then ask yourself whether you could imagine being you if you didn't exactly believe it any more, but believed something marginally different. Then marginally different from that. Pick a belief a week and work at it. Ask some really good friends what they believe and how they acquired their beliefs. Understand this - your belief system is absolutely unique to you. Your friend's belief system is unique to them. An open mind is comfortable with differences, and also a variety of lenses to view an issue.

==========================================================

Change the way you view the power of feeling down: Instead of it having power over you, use it to empower yourself:

Apprehend this feeling and embrace it; feel its power. Turn this power against itself and use this force to enable outward action of elimination.

(Chillen)

You have at your personal disposal all the tools you need for the elimination process: Change your frame of mind along with diet and training.

==========================================================

Don't tempt me to hide......I will find you, and hide under your seat with a "Chillhorn" screaming these facts to you:

The "vibration" ALONE will chill you to the BONE; this will cause a bad feeling, and you will MOAN and GROAN and you will be THROWN to your self THRONE.

You will then be a personal CYCLONE throwing many a STONE; your shadow will forever be SHOWN and this bad feeling will be left ALONE.

Got that?

(Chillen)
==========================================================

Aspire to do things that combat these ill effects. Deliver to yourself the necessary tools to combat these ill effects; Stand and Deliver.

(Chillen)

=========================================================

Best wishes to YOU my friend,

Chillen

Good for you Christi. GET IT! YOU CAN DO IT. Say it right now with me "I CAN DO IT"! YES you can! I'm glad your dad has you close by, I"m sure he missed you as well. You can help one another in different ways. I'm with Tony-SMOOTHIES all the way!

I'm starting cardio today. I'm taking advantage of my eliptical trainer. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's in the back yard, and my dad's fence is so low, everyone driving Union Hills (busy street in az) can see me working out. I'll get over it. Just put on the ipod and block out everything else. :D

So far today:
Bowl of soup :D

A bowl of soup as of the time of this post (the one quoted)!!

Steena......what is your diet and calorie plan?

How many calories, and how often you are eating?

What type of problems are you experiencing with your diet? Maybe I can offer up some advice and help you.

What is your training plan?

Lay it out, sweetie.

Best wishes

pissed

It seems like every time I get on track, something gets in the way. I just got released from the hospital. I went in on Tuesday night because I couldn't breathe. I was having a serious asthma attack. They decided to admit me, and had me on steroids and all this other junk while I was there.
I'm probably going to take the weekend off, but we'll see how I feel in the morning.
I'm just so frustrated. Why is it that something is always getting in my way?!?!?!?

"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the ultimate goal"

Keep your eye on the prize my friend! Things are GOING to get in your way. Things get in EVERYONE'S way. Thats life! Its what you do with them, and what your perspective is that makes the difference. YOU choose if they will defeat you or not. You can do it!

Recover well...then get back on the wagon!

Weighed in this morning; Just to check and see if being in the hospital hurt me at all. The thing I hate about the hospital (well, one of the many), is that I always lose weight from not eating enough. It always comes back. But this time, I didn't gain, nor did I lose anything.
I broke even at 186lbs.
I believe part of the reason for this is my parents bringing me real food a few times. I know that hospital portions are real portion sizes, and what I should be eating..but, when I do eat those, I'm hungry an hour later.

It may be a psychological need more than a physical one that you feel you need more food. I know that I've looked at portions before thinking that will never fill me up - but it does.

Just enjoying Chrismas week

Not eating to horribly the past few days; Not making really healthy choices, but compensating by eating less....staying within my calorie range of 1500/day. After Christmas, I'll start eating better, and working out again too.

Steena, let me tell you something. Do not get all caught up in eating multiple meals per day. This is one of the most over rated (and most misunderstood) elements within ones goal program. Do not misunderstand me. Multiple meals have their benefits. Such as inhibiting hunger cravings, etc, etc. However, ones success or failure, simply does not HINGE on these frequent meals. The most important issue, is fitting in enough meals that WORKS within your lifestyle, whether its 3 or 8, it simply (in the end) will not matter. What does make a difference is the root combination at the end of the day: too many calories, suboptimal macro nutrition and some food choices.

In other words, if you fluctuate in your meal habits, and eat a large meal, and compensate by following it with a fast (so-to-speak), while this I wouldn't recommend (regularly) of course, do not think its going to knock you off your goal path, because simply this isn't the case; especially if one of the ROOTS are in place, such as the calorie equation. If you do not have any complications (genetically, biologically, etc), and you are within your dietary limitations at the end of the day, having this sweet item (if it assists your sanity) and it keeps you roaring like a lion, then.....there isn't much of a problem. Moderation (within your limits) can be your salvation.

Simply look at your life style, and work in various elements that allow your sanity, and keep you within your limits you need to have in place.

Best regards,

Chillen
