Georgia's Diary

I joined this forum today and I am excited about finding a place that hopefully will help me to stay motivated at losing weight. I have done well losing on my own but I find that it is getting harder to stay motivated. I have managed to go from 237 lbs to 190.8 so far but I still have such a long ways to go to reach 135 lbs. I am using a low carb diet, I find that works best for me, all of the protein seems to keep me from getting real hungry. Right now I find that by participating in the Great Lenten Fast it too is helping me to stay focused on learning to control my eating habits.

I am a single mother of three girls. Only two are still at home. I am disabled due to a form of muscular dystrophy and have to be careful with exercise as my muscles just don't work like most other peoples do. They tend to tear and rip and then don't want to heal properly. When the weather permits I like to take my dog for a walk and hopefully spring will arrive here in Michigan soon and my dog and I will be able to get out a bit more. I also have one piece of exercise equipment that I use once in a while, it is similar to a step master. I have to be real careful of it though as I have torn my knee up on it before and it set me back for several months.

So this is my beginning here on this board and I hope to do well and learn so many of your secrets and tips.

So far today I have stuck to my diet inspite of constant temptations. :) It is really hard though. It helps right now though since it is Great Lent to realize that we are really suppose to be losing sins and not pounds. The only problem is that I'm not so sure how many sins that I am losing either. I didn't get much exercise in today, it was just to cold to go outside. Perhaps tomorrow will be better.

I know how you feel...I live in Ohio and the weather here sucks. If you stay on here and read other people's diaries and reply to other people's then people will start reading yours and the comments and diaries will help you stay motivated! Good luck...and congrats on all the weight you have already lost!
