Hi peoples

My names Mike, I'm 34 Married with 2 great kids (O and my wifes ok as well LOL) I live in Sydney Australia I work in an office all day and I'm also a volanteer fire fighter. Ive been a bit heavey since I was 13 or so, but really stacked it on when i moved in to an office job 7 years ago going from 107kg (235lb) up to 123kg (271lbs) in December I desided to do somthign about it and started by walking 5km (3.11miles) then working up to a 5km run 4 days a week with a 5km walk on the off days (sundays off) that along with redusing my ddiet to more realistic portions and low fat low GI when practicle have helped me get down to 97kg (217lb) which coincdently is lighter than I was when I got married. which I would consider great except I have been 97kg since the begining of May and it doesnt seem to matter what I do I have added a mountan bike ride in the afternoon I have cut more kjls out of my diet and nothing I had a bad week last week (first one in months) andd I didnt get out to exercize and ate pretty porly andd I didnt gain any thig either. it seems I have hit a wall.

Sorry I waffled on a little there and I realise this isnt the place for that, but hay thats the story so far, I look forward rading about you all and constructivly comenting if I can

Thanks

Mike

Welcome!

These plateaus are a mystery. I have had several brief ones but I fear a lonfer one in the future.

Welcome!

Definitely sounds like you've hit a plateau. Maybe try resting for a week and then starting up with some other form of cardio/weight training?? Worked for me!!

G'day Mike - nice to have another bloke on here! Sounds like you need some support out there. The exercise sounds like you are doing the right thing - how about food? You mention the low fat, thats good - and you are calory counting, ok. Personally, I eat big portions - but at this time of year here in the UK, salads make it easy. Do you snack anything? Maybe try increasing fibre - how about breakfast, do you have one?

Whatever you work out - keep it up! It really is worth it. If you give up - your weight will continue increasing - its that time of life for us blokes, the kilos creep on over the years then before you know it, its an early trip down to the mortary.

I think that you might need to re-evaluate your plan, maybe try some new exercises - how about swimming, and see if you can improve your dieting by googling up more about nutrition and healthy living.

Keep with it mate!

Ah it's good to see another aussie bloke. Good to meet ya Mike ;) I'm from QLD.
