Sport Gas X for fiber related problems

Sport Fitness
Yesterday I ate over 30 grams of fiber. That's great but after I got home from work, I had major stomach pain, bloating and felt like throwing up. It was so bad that I was unable to work out and couldn't even ride the bike. Here's my question(s):

1. Would gas-x help with this?

2. Any other ideas on helping eliminate (no pun intended) this problem? I've already really cranked up my water intake. I'm assuming my body may just need to adjust slowly.

Thanks in advance, Greg

Ramp up the fiber kind of slowly, and spread out the intake over the course of the day. I take even more than this every day, and have done so for a long time, and I have no adverse effects whatsoever except for frequent breaks to the "office"...4 times per day minimum, more often 6.

Thank goodness I work out of the house most of the time.

What forms of fiber are you taking? Mostly from whole foods, or do you supplement?

How did you take the fibre? I eat oats, rye bread, whole meal bread etc but I've never had any problems. Fruit also contains fibre (plus carbs and vitamin) so fibre is not alien to most people's diet.

I ate soluble and insoluble. Whole wheat bread, whole wheat english muffins, raisins, grilled vegetables fig newtons etc. So, it came from a variety of sources.

Nope, I'm in the process of losing weight. I currently weigh 235 and need to eventually get down to about 190. I am currently eating about 2100 calories per day.

I'm having the exact same problem here, If I eat a lot of fiber, I get the same stomach pains, gas, bloating and frequent trips to the john.
I'm keeping the fiber intake to a low level :bncry: .
