Hi Everyone!
I just joined because I wanted a place to ask these kinds of questions anonymously.
Basically, I've struggled with weight for a while now, but I'm finally getting serious, because I weighed myself at 155 lbs and that's the highest I had ever been (I'm 22, female, 5'3", so yes, that's high). I've started keeping track of my cals, usually keeping it to about 1500 a day (with a goal of 1200), and I've been doing pretty hardcore workouts everyday. The workouts have been half cardio (treadmill, running and walking with incline) and half muscle (core workouts, on the ground, etc.). I've also been doing some yoga. It's been almost 2 weeks, and I get back on the scale yesterday and it says 160...I looked again today and yes, still 160. Is this weight gain due to gaining muscle? I know I shouldn't stop working out--what can I do to lose the weight? I feel like I'm just gaining muscle and not losing fat, and I don't really know what to do. Is this normal to gain weight when working out a lot? Should I just keep at it, or should I try different kinds of exercise? I'm short, so my goal is 130-120 lbs, as I think that would be a healthy weight with muscle. How do I lose the fat??
Also, on a random note, I get really hungry in the afternoon/dinner/after dinner...it's really hard for me to keep it to 1200. Any tips?
Thanks!
