Some of you might remember me from my first thread awhile back, and some of you might not have ever read it. To refresh, I had dealt with a lot of stuff growing up, and then had hurt my chest (years later) as a result of attempting an exercise routine which only complicated things. I was unable to do simple tasks, i.e. move a box, or even pick up my cat. It hurt to move, and I stayed that way for a really long time. Anyway, I wrote up a little something below to give a brief update to the people who did read my first post. :]

I just erased every word of what I typed two years ago... There really is no point in keeping it there since I've made a great deal of progress. I recently weighed myself! I am now under 120 lbs. and am helping others achieve their weight loss goals. I still would like to lose a little more, but it's going to take time and more work! I can't wait. I suppose the point of writing this to you all is to say thank you for your encouraging words and to give you an update. I feel way more energetic than I have over these past few years!! I see everything in a whole new light now. I walk on the treadmill regularly; watch my intake of certain food + drink (no soda!!). I just got through telling someone how crazy it is to not even want soda anymore like I used to; I guess its all due to me not drinking it in so long that I don't crave it like I once did.

I definitely have noticed "the change" and could not feel any better. The only complaint I have now is my asthma-related problem. It seems to have gotten worse over the past year. I used to only have a touch of it, and it makes it hard for me to be able to exercise like I want to. Sometimes the inhalers work, sometimes they don't. Aside from that, I am sooooooooo glad that I've come this far-- I never thought I would! It just seemed that no matter what I did or how hard I worked it would never happen.

Thanks again everyone for the concern~!

Well, the doctor said for me not to work out for a few months. I think it would be okay for me to get on a treadmill in at least a month. I feel 10x better than I did two weeks ago that's for sure! He just said for me to not do anything too strenuous at this time.

I used to work out on a treadmill a few years back, so maybe that would help if I worked out that way. =D

First of all - welcome to the forum.

For starters I would try writing down everything you eat in a day. Maybe for the time that you can't exercise you have to make some adjustments to your diet.

Good Luck!!

HI CC,

I have been down your road and I am currently going down it now....so I feel ya. No matter what size we are we have to love and trust ourselves, we can really beat ourselves up over our weight but you know what it does nothing for us. Be confident in knowing that you have lost weight before as some people never get that far. Be proud of yourself that you are here and that you are being honest about your issues with weight as it is so easy to go into denial about what is really going on. Dont give up, you CAN do this. GET THAT POSITIVE MINDSET and go for it!!!!!!

Reading your story truly sounds like reading mine told in different words. I know that you will definitely be able to do this because I can tell that you want it BAD. I do too. And I honestly truly hope that, even if it's in baby steps....as long as you get there eventually it's all that matters. :)

Just be glad that you are still here and that ultimately you will have the opportunity to succeed at this. It only makes u a stronger person inside. :)

Thanks guys!

Since my last post, I've had more energy from resting. And I think I've started losing a few pounds! I am on a much better diet. :D

Dang girl, you haven't been here in ages! Hope all is well with you and I hope you had a wonderful BIRTHDAY today!!!! :D

Hi and welcome here! I'm sorry for your frustration with your weight. I've heard a lot of stories like yours. I'm a Lifestyle Management Consultant, so a lot of women come to me who have lost weight, gained weight, lost, gained, etc. Like I teach my clients, the key for you may be instead of a strict diet and workout to lose weight, slowly integrating in to a healthy lifestyle that includes proper nutrition and a manageable exercise plan. Something that you can commit to for life and doesn't mkae you miserable or stressed out.
Anyway, welcome here!
Sarah
