Sport Gain weight?

Sport Fitness
I am a 19-year-old boy and I weigh around 115lbs, my height is 5"6 or 5"7. I honestly do not feel proud about my body and I am trying gain as much weight as I can, but it does not seem to work out for me. I think one of the reason is about my eating habit. I seriously do not eat well, I barely eat 2 meals a day and I eat really little. However I do go to the gym and work out for 3 to 5 times a week. Is there anyone that can help me with my situation? or at least a way that can help me to eat more often?

Hey!

I would love to help you out little brother! Why don't you eat more often? Are you not hungry? If you want to gain weight you are definitely going to have to clean up your diet, eat more and strength train.

Tell me more about the program you're on right now.

Talk soon.

Hi!

Is there a diet that you would recommend for me. I honestly do not feel hungry most of the time, so that is kind of my problem.

Eating right is a lot like working out to stay fit...sometimes you just aren't feeling it...but you still have to do it.

Start by just slowing increasing your food intake...namely by eating at least 3 meals a day. If you are skipping breakfast, you've set yourself up for failure for the next 8 hours!

You could also look into a simple whey protein shake, since these aren't very filling at all, but do provide useful calories.

^^ I agree

Just start slow by trying to get in the habit of eating 3 meals per day. Try not to overwhelm yourself by completely overhauling all of your eating habits all at once. Once you feel like it's not a problem to eat 3 meals, then maybe try adding a small snack or shake.

I'm starting to train myself to eat more often now. I try to wake up earlier to eat breakfast (a sandwich out something) so I won't have to skip lunch before I go to school like I used to. I also eat fruits after meals (apple, bananas, peach, etc.)

These are wise words, pay close attention as this tip alone will make a big difference.

You'll want to make a new habit of eating EVERY morning.

You'll need to make it easy so start off with something that's simple for you to prepare.

A couple of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the morning with a glass of apple juice and a glass of milk is an easy way to go.
Your biggest problem is getting calories so this is what you should focus on, that doesn't mean you should eat junk food as nutrient dense foods should always be your first choice, BUT if you have nothing good to eat then some junk food is better than nothing. You'll want to make sure that you're eating nutricous food as your staples though.
So fruits, vegetables, lean meat, fish, bread, pasta , rice, milk, cheese. Try and eat 3-5 meals a day. If you're only eating two now, try eating three as this is a realistic increase. Add a glass of milk or juice with every meal to increase calories as well as healthy snacks in between.
As you increase your caloric intake your appetite should increase as well.
A good book I could recommend is Optimum Sports Nutrition by Dr. Michael Colgan.

Good luck.

Good advices about the eating part. Train this.
I think you should at the same time, concentrate on training. Doing the prober training exercises for gaining and that might include you not going to the gym 5 times a week, but maximum 3 times. Eat great food and train with free weights and focus on the big body parts.
Do a Hardgainer training program - At least untill you have gained weight.

I'm sorta stuck in the same situation, only difference is that im 18 and i weight 120lbs.

I really want to gain weight and muscle. I really don't understand what I have to do to gain weight. I just feel like no matter how much I eat, or what I eat, I just keep staying this weight.

I'm really a terrible eater, and just eat A LOT of junk food. I feel like, if I'm eating junk food, shouldn't I be gaining weight?

My goal is to gain weight, then of course, gain muscle. I feel like I should first work on gaining weight, then turn the fat into muscle.

Please tell me, how I should go about gaining my weight/muscle? Workout plans, eating plans?

I'm hoping to gain around 50-70 pounds in about 12 months, i know i can do it as its been done before by others

Thanks so much!

Well,In my point of view drinking more milk with honey is the best way to gain weight... banana and dates are also effective fruits for weight gain...!

Could you explain this a bit more? Is it something about these specific foods that help for gaining weight? Or is it the protein content or carb content, etc.?
