GABA question?????

Anyone here experienced in using GABA??

I have just started using it (for several different reasons) about 4 nights ago.

I am a 39 yo female, mother of 2 (56kg)....it seems to have provided me with the deep sleep I have not had since the birth of my first child 6 yrs ago.

HOWEVER...I am experiencing a great amt of difficulty falling asleep initially - up to 2 hours. During this time I seem to be experiencing a racing heart rate -beyond the initial "flush" which is normal.

I am somewhat worried by this and wonder if this is temporary????

thanks for any help

rebecca

I am taking 2gms as recommended.

What is GABA?

Any chemical that puts you to sleep is bad for you. If you want to sleep then do it, If you want to be healthy then dont.

Lack of sleep is usually caused by stress, I suggest Staying away from sweet foods 5hours before bed, yoga, acupuncture, Taiji, herbal treatments (kalms), even a shrink can help with this sort of stuff.

Health should be your first priority, Chemicals are a last resort.

That's unusual for GABA to do that to a person. I gave up GABA in lieu for a product called Tension RX which gives me the same effect without leaving me with a GABA hangover the next day.

Have you downed the dosage to see how you get along with it? Have you consulted your physician? Are you breast feeding?

never heard of GABA. I take ZMA most nights, and it keeps me asleep. If I have trouble sleeping cuz my schedule is off, I'll take 3mg melatonin and that puts me out like a light.

Really? you guys take drugs to sleep? why? there are so many better ways to deal with it.

lol.. Yeah do what I do.. stare at the ceiling for 4 hours until you can actually feel your eyes getting red... to bloodshot.. from dry to watery... and eventually swift away.. My problem at night... Insomnia isn't fun.

Naw but I have not heard of GABA either. Try to stay natural.. as much as I struggle with sleep.. I still will always refuse to take sleeping pills.

I don't take the ZMA to fall asleep, its just a nice side effect that it keeps me in deep slumber all night.

melatonin is a natural sleep aid. melatonin is the chemical the body makes that induces sleepiness, so you pop 3mg to boost natural levels and make you sleepy.
I take it less than once per week.
