Funny feeling

When I was running tonight, and I've noticed this a few times prior to this, I notice my left quad is a lot tighter (I can feel the muscles significantly more) than my right one. I'm not sure if this is related to my bum knee (and yes, I know that I probably shouldn't be running at all, but I am addicted!). Anyway, insight is appreciated. Thanks.

How long have you been running for? Do you compensate for your knee by changing your gait (this could cause all kinds of problems)? Have you been stretching adequately after your runs?

Also, I have found that strengthening the muscles around the knee make running much easier on my knees.

Thanks for the response. I have been running for several years. I only change my gait when my knee hurts - and it usually only hurts for a few strides. As for stretching.....I am ashamed to say, I don't stretch. Could that be part of the problem????

Of course stretching can be part of the problem! If your quad feels verytight, definately stretch it out (even if it doesn't fix the problem your leg will feel better), but if this is a new and recent problem, perhaps your sneakers are worn out.

Leg pain from out of nowhere, for me, is usually indicative of wore out shoes.

Hmmm....my sneaks aren't that old. I just got them in the spring - I usually get new ones at least once a year, if not semi-annually.

I will have to stretch then....thanks for the tip. :)

You should be replacing your sneaks every 500 miles. So if you are running 3 miles a day, thats semi-annually. And, hey, I'm always looking for a reason to buy new running shoes!

LOL Works for me! :) I'm female - I LOVE to shop!! :yelrotflmao:
