fun runs

I noticed a lot of "fun runs" in my area that are for charity and stuff. Some offer T-shirts, medals, etc. just for showing up while others offer none. Fees generally are the same but what they have to off as in Shirts and such are different. I was wondering if all fun runs offered things like that or not? Granted, the money does goes for charity which is the reason WHY someone should sign up, but I was wondering if all the runs had something to offer the runner? (sort of like blood drives)

most offer at least a t-shirt for the runners for free. I've never been in one that hasn't

Most do offer something. As someone who has set up a few of these, generally the TShirts, Caps, buttons, posters, whatever we are giving away, are either donated or provided at very little cost to us. So almost all the money raised goes to a good cause.

Huh, I never got anything for giving blood, ya know, besides that warm feeling that comes from saving a life. ;).

What I have gotten from fun runs (besides the t-shirt, free orange slices, bottle of cold water, mini Clif bars and other varying schwag), was the opportunity to compete and be chipped time for comparison purposes.
