I used to have a carrot and some spinach as the vegetable portion on my lunch. But got bored with it so have now started to cut both up quite finely and fry them with some mushrooms.

I don't use any fat, I just chuck in the vegetables on there own. Its very nice, but is there anything wrong with this way of cooking?

thanks

that is a good way to cook vegetables, as you are not boiling them and losing nutrients in that way. I usually add a bit of water to the pan so you are steaming the vegetables as they cook, as well as spices (whatever will go along nicely with the rest of your meal). :)

If there is not fat then your not frying, so that's fine.

I will add that a tsp of olive oil only has about 40 calories and does add healthy fat to food, which is also fine.

You need to eat some fats, like mono and polyunsaturated fats, they are good for you.

Why not try a stirfry? you can get these in packets in many stores. If you use soy sauce to season at the end and add 150g of prawns for some protein you have a really good meal there with about 150kcals.
