Sport Fruit Diet?

Sport Fitness
Hi all,

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the 3 day fruit diet.

I'm 26 and my diet changes quite often. I love general fitness and a general diet, but it all go's wrong around twice a week because I like socialising with friends with involves drinking quite heavily which makes my fitness and weight go to pot.

My question is - is it healthy, to detox your body and lose a few pounds, to go on a 3 diet fruit diet, which basically consists of apples, banana's, grapes, grapefruit, smoothies and water?

I must admit I did this last week while I was on a gym and running regime and I felt great. But, again, because of a social event, the weekend consisted of a lot of alcohol which spoilt everything. I really need to stop the great nights out (if I had a girlfriend it would be easier) but I do enjoy the fun.

Your opinion or tips? What about 5 day fruit diets?

Many thanks all,
Richard

IMO, it would cause you to lose muscle mass as fruits don't provide you with the protein your body needs

i suspect that bingeing and then detoxing so often wouldnt be healthy at all.

away from the food, dont stop what you enjoy! I find that not drinking too much beer (calorie heavy, swap for vodka) helps and also you MUSNT have the munchy food afterwards!! This is the hardest part. Pizza, curries, even fatty sandwiches will ruin the training. I suppose a piece of toast with peanut butter would be ok.

although im currently devoid of an active social life (cue violins....) i have just finished 3 years of uni. the food involved with going out is far worse than the drink. a slice of lemon in water is very good the morning after.

And as far as the girlfriend thing, the grass is always greener. Enjoy being free until 'it' just happens.
