FRS Opinions

I'm sure you've all heard of this, Lance Armstrong swears by it apparently.

Anyway, I guess it's some insane antioxidant drink (equivalent to 300 apple peels?), that gives great energy boosts and provides other benefits.

One article I read said something about one study finding that this increased energy levels in people by 13% over a 12-day period and that someone on steroids wouldn't even see a 1% gain in that time period.

They then mentioned it potentially being banned soon, despite the fact that its all natural....

This is my problem. I am very against illegal substances, even if they are illegal for stupid reasons. I would hate to take this and then years later know I was taking a "banned" substance. I don't play professional or collegiate sports, but it still wouldnt sit well with me.

Any opinions on this stuff? Thanks for any help.

My bad, didn't see the other thread on this, mine does take a pretty different route though with the whole "banned substance" idea, so I appreciate any help. Thanks again.

well the NCAA won't even let players receive creatine supps from coaches...however since they can't really test for a naturally occuring substance in the body, players can still use it on their own.

so it depends on what "ruling body" says they wanna ban it.

That said, there are no miracle pills or drinks. Lance is just getting paid his sponsorship money like every other 'pro' out there.

As far as getting a great non-bias perspective on performance enhancing drugs and supplements, go rent the dvd called, Bigger, Faster, Stronger. It's a great documentary!

I was going to pick some FRS up last week, but became sidetracked.
I'm going to buy a 4 or 6 pack tomorrow, and let you guys know what I think of it.

Ok, they sell FRS drink at Rite Aid pharmacy now, so I was finally able to pick up a couple cans. Definitely a good product. I bought the sugar-free one which dtill has about 4 grams of sugar, which is not a lot to even blink at. I liked it! It did seem to give me the energy boost that it claims. Unlike most energy drinks, it doesn't contain caffeine, so it gave me more of a gradual increase in my energy level and was longer lasting too.
I liked it, and will probably buy some more.
