Sport Frozen or not

Sport Fitness
Is buying frozen veggies from the market as good as the ones from the fresh section? I know of course its not better but is it very similar? Its more convenient for me to just buy it alrady chopped and for me just to steam or boil.

I've read that no matter how you're getting them, as long as you're getting your required servings a day, you're good. And get this - there are actually some benefits to buying frozen vs. fresh. The vitamins and nutrients in fresh fruits and veggies breaks down over time, but this does not happen with frozen goodies. So, if it's more convenient for you, go for it! :)

I posted this to the COL, today, and has revelence to your question. Within this post is a link to frozen food and whether nutrients are lost or not:

Its great to be in a state surrounded by water.

The best veggies and fruits to get is the local grown ones.

The problem with frozen and non-local grown is that they've been frozen and therefore do not hold as much nutrients as it would the day it's pulled from the ground. Also, freezing suggests chemical used to prolong the life of the product which is common for frozen fruits and perhaps veggies (although I haven't seen a frozen veggie with the chemical).

Frozen is okay if you hate to shop everyday. However, if you have a supermarket in walking distance of your house, then I say go with fresh stuff.
