hello everyone .
ive been out of the gym for the past 2 years and gained weight immensly but im planning to get back in shape and take my lazy ass back to the gym . since these 2 years my fridge became a junk food provider , everytime i open the fridge i only get to see unhealthy , unwanted fatty food. i want to make a change and get rid of all these useless weight gainers and add more food that fits the gym life in helping me getting back on the right track . id like to make a list that will cross the junk food out each time i open the fridge and just find healthier food, so whoever has ideas about what i can fill up my fridge with write down a couple of them and id make sure to get that. thx

In Fridge

Hi, I have found that if you leave the fridge empty you will go elsewhere to look for food. So find some things that are healthy for you that you like and satisfy you and put them in. Then when you eat them, just eat them slowly and enjoy what you are eating. Also put jugs of water in your fridge and every time to open the fridge have a drink. Makes you feel more hydrated.

Cheers

One that's worked extremely well for my husband is celery + hummus.

Whenever he wants a snack - that's easy, and a whole lot better than chips & dip!

I also keep the house stocked with a good supply of apples & string cheese.

For impulsive eating those are the two best in my household. However, if you like veggies you can pre-chop up veggies and keep them in the fridge (possibly in water) for on demand snacking.

I also keep cottage cheese and Greek Yogurt (it generally has more protein than 'normal' yogurt) on hand.

I also pre-make up a high protein waffle batter and keep that in the fridge for something quick.

Also, romaine lettuce & shredded cheese for salads on demand. We get a really yummy feta & olive Greek dressing from whole foods to go with it.

The rest of the fridge depends on me looking at cookbooks and planning for actual meals. Chicken, ground meat, seasonal fruit & veggies (One day DH will try acorn squash... and like it...) cheese, butter, cream, broth/stock etc.

I also get frozen diced onions, frozen strawberries & blueberries, protein powder (I make smoothies with water, protein powder & frozen fruit), wild rice, fun stuff like that.
