When shopping for fruits and vegetables, choose a variety of different colors. This is for more than purely aesthetic reasons. Different color fruits and vegetables have different types of nutrients, and choosing a variety of colors will help ensure you get all the vitamins and minerals you need each and every day.
 
Actually its not only fresh fruit, its called the rainbow diet (eating a rainbow of produce) as many nutrients are associated with various colors e.g.

- carotenes, for instance, which are important antioxidants that range in colour from deep yellow to deep red.
- Anthocyanins are another class of essential "phytochemicals" and can be found in foods coloured anywhere from black, blue and purple to reddish.
- Flavinoids come in a similarly varied assortment of coloured foods.
- Green:- dark-green leafy vegetables—such as kale, collars, chard, spinach, tat soy, and bok choy.
