Forum questions

Is it just me or is this forum more question and answer than discussion?

Alot of the time people are posting the same questions, such as "i want a 6 pack, how do i get one?", or "I'm fat, and i wanna be skinny, how do i do this?"

Maybe everyone should start pointing these questions to google, or the forum search function. I know before I post anything I do a forum search, but the search function is pretty poor, so it dosn't really achieve anything. Can it be updated?

I know it will come across as harsh, but it will cut though all the crap

What do you think?

I'll admit it's rather frustrating when everyday there's a new post for "how do I lose weight" "I want a 6-pack" etc.... but I don't mind, usually.
I feel very strongly about people being healthy adn I feel that if there's no one to specifically help them, they're going to give up. So I like being here to help people - along with other frequent posters on this forum who seem to also like helping people with these matters.
If I felt there were too many people asking these questions and I found myself getting too frustrated, I'd probably leave the site.
If you want to discuss, go ahead - start a thread. We'll discuss whatever you want with you! If you have a question - start a thread and we'll help you answer it!

Having a section full of great *stickies* would be really useful, for some of the most common ones. The one I see most is "I still have fat in my __________, even though I've been targeting it with _____________. What am I doing wrong?"

I am all for talking via the forum... So, how are you guys? How was your weekend?

My weekend was cool. I hiked around sugarloaf mountain with plastic boots and a 40lb backpack (~2 hours). Today, I climbed 3000 feet in 35 minutes on my VersaClimber.

Have a gud night!

The questions are routine, but I remember when I first started asking questions and people in this forum and others were kind enough to take a moment out of there busy lives to answer. And it's much more effective to answer the questions specifically than directing to a "sticky" - those things are so damn impersonal!

As far as the forum being more q & a - depends on the post, we've highjacked a few here and there and made some conversations out of them.

===========================================

Saturday I went and played basketball for like 4 hours. After that I was beat! But my games getting better. Then I worked on my house, fixing fences, building gates, trimming trees, digging up ground cover.

Sunday I did the same, only I finished putting my wifes truck back together (rebuilt tranny).

Now I'm gonna eat some pizza and go to bed - oooooooooo bad diet!!!

I'm not trying to start a great debate or anything, but, don't you think they would have a better chance of sticking to the plan if they had input and had researched it themselves, then if someone was fed it to them on a silver spoon.

I personally would, thats why I try to find out everything myself, and only ask you guys for advice or an indiviual opinion.

Not enough people (in my opinion) have proper information about nutrition and exercise - and considering the plethora of information on the internet, people could easily be mislead, confused, not process the info right, etc.

I got most of my information on my own research, but that's because I already have a fairly strong background in the subjects and I know how to be objective of all the information available.

I do think stickies would be helpful, though.

I thought about taking all the info that keeps getting repeated, throwing it in a thread and asking Grandeur or Nolan to sticky it. I just never got around to it :D.

Ive been so busy I haven't even been able to check the forum. Ive probably worked 12-15 games already this year, moved into a new place, helped my mom move into a new place. Its getting kinda hectic, ill be glad when ball season gets done though :D.
