Ok, here’s the deal. Give me feed back.
I am thinking of forming a Marathon team comprised of youths, ages 13 to 18.
I am a volunteer Civilian Instructor In the Army Cadets and thought of starting a team which would run a 1/2 marathon in May.
I'm in the thinking stage at the moment. I am thinking of getting sponsors such as the army cadet league, the military, our affiliated reservist regiment, local gym, and running related stores.
I wish to teach the kids about a healthy lifestyle, training, and nutrition.
I really want to get away from the competitive aspect of sports and competitions. I want my cadets to achieve goals that will change their lives and something they can look back on and pride and a smile.
I have wanted to train and do it myself, and thought, why not organize a team to train with me, as a team. As a team we would be able to support each other not to win but to finish.
This idea would support our movements Vision and Objectives:
-Develop leadership and good citizenship
-Promote physical fitness
-Stimulate an interest in the three elements of the Canadian Forces
I thought of using on line guides such as:
Any thoughts, ideas?
