For those who have Tattoos

Have you ever heard of this stuff?

I have 2 tats that I want to remove and apparently this stuff is supposed to work very well in fading them out and it's also FDA approved.

Thought's/opinions?

I've heard about it. I did a quick google search and there seems to be a lot of people talking about it, but I didn't see anyone say they used it and it worked or that they used it and it didn't work. I've thought about getting mine covered up or removed. It's not that I don't like it, just that I'd get something different if I had the chance to do it again.

I'd say, depending on the price, it might be worth a try.

PS - what are the tatoos of? The worse they are, the more willing I'd be to try the balm.

I can't imagine how well it would work, but who knows with the advances in technologies. They have been experimenting with a type of creme chemical peel, this could be what this is. It has TCA, but that has been around for a long time, so who knows how effective it is going to be.

I think that still the only real way to get a tat off is lazer removal.

i agree and then with laser removal, you may be left with a scar. i always suggest a cover up tat, but if you are wanting to do away with tats then just make sure to do your research first. i can't imagine that it would be as easy as using a cream though. good luck with it and keep us posted as to what works or what you decided to do.

A good tattoo will be hard to remove because its deep enough in the skin that these topical acid peels don't quite do the job.

But for the price vs. endless sessions of laser treatment...might not be a bad idea to try it.
Maybe use it on a small part of the tattoo at first, in case it doesn't work well or gives you a rash, etc.

I think it depends on how big it is. Like a really small one, would be good to remove. However, a really large one, I don't know, sounds like a job for lasers.

As Malkore said, if it is a quality tattoo, cremes most likely won't do anything to it. But if it is something that has faded already over time, it might help it fade a little more.

I still don't believe that it would necessarily remove a tattoo, not even sure it would fade one, but you could give it a shot. If it's about getting rid of it, a laser is WAY more expensive, but you know it will get the job done..

There are some tattoo artists out there that'll re-tat you with a mild acid compound.

the idea behind all these removal methods is breaking the ink into smaller blocks so the body can flush them out.

there's some new inks out there that explode easily under a laser, requiring only 2 sessions to effectively remove most tattoos.

What's the typical cost of removing with a laser?

Laser tattoo removal cost can ranges from $200 to $500 per treatment session. The price can dependent on many factors, including the type and extent of the tattoo.

Generally laser tattoo removal can take several treatments to complete, so the total cost could be as little as $1,000 or as high as $10,000.

I don't know about that. What happens it the treatment only partially works?

I'd rather have a full tattoo that I sorta don't like than a jacked up partial tattoo that I sorta don't like.

The exact reason why I think the best two options are laser, or a cover up....

....which only again reminds me why I never got a tattoo. Cool as they may be, I just can't get my head wrapped around the committment.

Best of luck to ya!

Hi,

I know this is an old thread to kick up, but I thought i'd let you know that i'm actually having laser treatment to remove a tattoo at the moment. They've estimated between 8-10 treatments will completely remove it and they are charging me £85 per session. I am having sessions every 10 weeks.

It does seem to be doing the trick and I will put up pictures with progress a little further down the line.

It is painful - moreso than the initial tattoo, so be prepared if you go down this road. The good news is each session doesn't take long to complete.
